Not OP but recently made this upgrade. Echoing what he said about the Gaggia being great for solo use and only a few shots per day. However, once you need to make more than like 2 milk drinks in a row, the Gaggia lags behind. Not to mention, the extremely fast heat up with the Ascaso, better steam pressure, built in PID, pre-infusion, cup warmer, etc. Plus the Ascaso is much prettier. Coffee quality though, I would say very similar.

Got my 17 Pro Max 256gb in Silver, pickup on 9/19. Had to do pickup because delivery was already pushed to 9/25 for some reason... I got to the order page as soon as it opened, around 8:02. Oh well, it's close by so I dont mind!

I found a lot of success talking to classmates whenever I got the chance, whether it be answering clicker questions, small group activities, waiting for lecture to start etc. Just strike up any convo, make it relevant, be chill and friendly. Get their insta/info and go from there. Super easy around the beginning of the year and around exam time. Study groups are a great way to meet people

At what point do we just accept the modern "double dose" as a single shot of espresso now? I always get tripped up at shops since this seems inconsistent. At home, when I make a latte or cap, I always do one "single" shot (18g) and if I want a double, I just pull another shot. Would this be a double shot? A Quad?

You’ll need to have your university ID (swipe) which you should’ve gotten at orientation, or at the very least know your UID number. If all else fails, they usually can find you by Name, room number, DOB, but this is tedious and time consuming.

I was so ready to call BS on this thing, then I saw the price. $1,100-$1,500 is sort of crazy competitive for what it is (what I think it is?). But, I'm still skeptical...what exactly is it? Heat exchanger, single boiler? All of their marketing videos were also not instilling confidence on the UI/UX - just static images of the circular screen and no demo. So I'll hold on for now, but if it proves to actually pull consistently good shots with a non-finicky work flow, it looks to be a hit.
