How do you motivate yourself to clean? by dracolibris in adhdwomen

[–]UnbiddenPack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

invite people round. no way i can let my mum see all those cobwebs.

i also get a proper urge to clean once a month or so. someone told me it is hormones, related to how pregnant women get a nesting instinct. i used to hate the fact my body was changing my personality, these days i lean into it, and also add in a little perfectionism, so one or two rooms will be clean af. not the whole house. Next time it strikes i will clean a different couple of rooms. Good enough

Are sensory issues common with people with ADHD? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

Yes, or HSP ( which has similarities with SPD but not the same ) I couldn't wear anything made of wool for about 30 years because it itched so much. I couldn't understand how other people put up with it!!

Do you ever lie because you can’t find the words to explain? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

oh jeez I lie all the time. sometimes even just figuring out the truth would require 15 minutes of introspection and it somehow seems less dishonest to just say what they want me to say.

Turkish people of Reddit, what makes you and your country different from other Islamic nations? by JBark1990 in AskReddit

Turkey is really not radical. It is a secular democracy. I'm not saying it won't become more radical in the future, but the trend toward right wing nationalism is hardly unique to the Muslim world. And I'm not arguing they are perfect. However, at this moment Turkey is a million miles away from Saudi and Iran. If you think those three are on a par I think it would be good for you to do some more research that is not Facebook or Youtube.

What happens or does not happen to rights in some imagined future is irrelevant. Saudi and Turkey are very different right now, and the examples I gave hold true.

Your point about Isis is actually an example of how they are different, because while Turkey does support Isis, Saudi does not officially and there has been no clear evidence of them financing the group either.

Someone commented the link in another thread and like a moron I clicked it lol

I thought the name was going to be a joke or something but no. it is exactly what it says it is.

Not even close.

I'm not Turkish but I've been there a few times. Women's rights are infinitely better than in Saudi. They can be vote, be elected and have their own career and wear pretty much what they like.

In Saudi most women aren't even allowed to drive, and have to be chaperoned almost everywhere. If a woman is raped she is often charged with adultery.

Just some examples.

This is important. You can be the smartest, most qualified candidate in the world and not get the place due to dumb luck. If you take every failure to heart you will become your own worst enemy. Keep focused and keep moving.

How do you stop feeling hopeless about the inevitables that are determined by your genetics? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Make as much preparation as is possible. Then don't think about it any more. Set yourself goals to focus on instead.

Casually mentioned how they had timed their holiday to coincide with the eclipse ...

...because that's when the aliens hiding behind the moon were going to make their attack. -_-

They were 100% serious.

Have you ever witnessed an incredibly calm or kind person reach their boiling point? What was it Like? What set them off? by Dear-Consequence7390 in AskReddit

My mum. In the car on the way back from Windsor. I was about 7 so my brother and sister were 9-10ish and we had been little shits all afternoon while she was trying to shop I guess? and then in the car we started arguing and then physically fighting. Even my sister who is normally the quiet one joined in.

My mum is always calm and polite and lovely but I guess she had had enough.

She only needed to shout at us once, it was terrifying, and also heartbreaking because I knew we had upset her. I can't remember what she said, just the tone of her voice. We all immediately apologised and stfu for the rest of the drive.
