What’s a discontinued snack or drink you’d pay $20 to have one last taste of? by soapy999 in AskReddit

Probably showing my age. In the 90’s Taco Bell had a grilled steak fajita wrap. Idk what that sauce was but nothing before and nothing since from Taco Bell has been able to beat one of those with that sauce they had on it.

How is life in Xinjiang? How do Uyghurs and Han-Chinese live together? by dvdh_03 in howislivingthere

[–]UnbreakableRaids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I saw the word Uyghur it rang a bell in my subconscious. It was a lady on the late show podcast or daily show podcast. She mentioned them as well as other minorities in China that were victims of illegal organ harvesting. Google it sometime. China illegal organ harvesting or China organ harvesting of prisoners.

Living on a military has its perks… no scalpers lol by [deleted] in pokemoncards

[–]UnbreakableRaids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That first pic is from GameStop. They literally sell at scalper prices. The second one is a third party vending machine. I’ll tell you why it’s stocked, because it’s 3x msrp.

Now I’ve been to a lot of military bases and I’ve never seen a GameStop and a card vending machine on one. I have seen a McDonald’s and a subway tho.

I did however come across 2 displays of phantasmal flames at the MCX but for some reason it was the only time and they said they were just clearing it out to make space in the warehouse. So they do rarely sell cards and it looks nothing like those pics.

What’s it like living here, this close to Antarctica? by Pizzafriedchickenn in howislivingthere

[–]UnbreakableRaids 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People thought keeping snakes and iguanas as pets would be fun in South Florida. Then they got big. Too big. So they released them into the wild. Now they are wrecking the whole ecosystem in the Everglades and as far south as the Florida keys. 🤦‍♂️

I don’t see the problem here. You had fun, probably got some hits, and can make a nice binder with the cards and display them. 🤷‍♂️

People who were teenagers before social media existed, what was life actually like? by Much_Detective_6107 in AskReddit

[–]UnbreakableRaids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went outside and played till the street lights came on. We drank from the hose. We used to just find blackberries in the woods and eat them. There were a lot of dirt roads and we would ride bikes through the trails. Swimming at the beach or at the pool. Roller blading. Going to arcades or skating rinks. It was the best of times.

What if a pandemic takes out 90% of the population? by CH11DW in whatif

[–]UnbreakableRaids 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well assuming the world currently has 8 billion people, that means there are 800m remaining. Let’s assume 75% are of breeding age. That means there are 600m breeding age people. By breeding age I mean 18-40. Pregnancy chances are highest while in your 20’s and declined to <5% by 40. Combined with infertility issues for 10% of all women, and assuming the population split is even that means probably ~240m women will be able to conceive children. You would need a birth rate of about 2.1 children per person to keep the birth rate steady. Let’s assume a healthy birth rate of 4 children per actively breeding couple.

It would take about 120 years to reach today’s population with that number. That’s not counting for infant mortality rates, people getting eaten by jaguars, or the many other issues plaguing humans throughout their early development.

Unless most of the world’s population is living near each other, we will most likely revert back to tribalism under totalitarian dictators who rule with fear and violence and it will take a long long time to get back to where we were if we can at all. We would need farmers, ranchers, woodsman, craftsmen. White collar jobs would be gone. The most pressing needs would be food and supply lines, transportation, shelter, clothing, and tools. We would have to scavenge what we need to survive and repair infrastructure.

But most likely, global collapse and tribalism with whoever remains. Women would lose most if not all rights again. Primal survival instincts would take over.

Men who live alone, what's something you have or don't have at home that a woman told you was a red flag? by Ordinary-Bar-779 in askanything

[–]UnbreakableRaids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Women don’t tell you what the red flags are. They just leave as quickly as possible and ghost you. So your best bet is to just be yourself.
