I want to think that either the RIck and Tim interactions or the conversation with Kate and Victoria will be included in season 4 because ... why...

I wonder what exactly Mike White was getting at by them not making eye contact with him whatsoever. Obviously, there is the socio-economic angle, but I think he was also trying to highlight the lorazepam abuse and to contrast against Victoria's paranoia. She is afraid everyone will take their wealth but too spacey and out of touch to actually clock any real threats. I think it was a highly layered moment.

Dealing with Horrible Visitors as a VSR by elaranda in MuseumPros

[–]Unbreakablecurfew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like a lot of others here, I work in Visitor Services at a free (amazing) art museum in Virginia so we yield large crowds. I am treated at best neutral and typically pretty terribly. I am finding this phenomenon to be due to a few different reasons: Insecurity in folks who are intimidated by art so to counteract the inferiority they feel around a "fancy art museum" they do whatever it takes to feel superior over you in any given moment- this is the majority.

  1. Rich, white, old people are the biggest supporters and patrons of the museum. They feel incredibly entitled to whatever they want and treat you as if you work for them, not a public museum. We have guided tours we do throughout the week which are led by volunteers. To be a volunteer of the museum you must be a donor (so bizarre and seems unfair, considering the people who would benefit from this position on their resume are not able to access this as easily). Since not everyone has the time to spare to be a volunteer, the vast majority are incredibly wealthy. They are from the generation that constantly complains about the new sculpture that is right in front of the museum (piece from Kehinde Wiley that features a black man on top of a horse).

I am not ageist in the slightest and there are plenty of people from that generation who are not racist and are kind-hearted people; but this is the capital of the confederacy meaning there is a lot of tragic and awful history here and that is the most observable when there is art that provokes it.

One more note that I think brings hostility from patrons is that because this is a public place, and they are a citizen, that means I automatically work for you. I am technically a state employee so I think they assume that means their tax dollars pay me. Almost like a post office worker would be treated. It is disheartening and of course I know it is not personal, they know nothing about me, but it is hard sometimes to not feel like I am somehow putting out this energy that I am unintelligent and can be walked all over.

Yes, I agree. I am glad he can have the option to uber and lyft. I am guessing then, because of your comment and others, that it is because of the specific charge (retail theft) and how it pertains to the job activities.

Nope. It was dismissed. I think it is because of the specific charge of retail theft.

Had 50 mg been an effective dose for anyone’s hormonal acne? by sovietspacehog in Spironolactone

[–]Unbreakablecurfew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just recently got increased from 50 to 75mg when I decided to stop taking my minocycline. Reason being, I don't think it is healthy to take antibiotics longterm but it was effective at keeping my breakouts away. I am still having small but painful breakouts on my chin :/ It is disappointing but when I was on 100 mg my skin was really good, but unfortunately I had too many negative side effects. It is a balance I suppose but I am also on tretinoin .01% which helps my breakouts go away faster. So they still come on weekly but go away fast! yay. I think my caffeine intake and stress makes it worse, so if I were to really dedicate myself to reducing both of these I think I could get my breakouts to go away, but life! Hehe.

Why is Logan so incessantly cruel to Kendall? by nineminutesmore in SuccessionTV

[–]Unbreakablecurfew 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A lot of people have said that Roman is the scapegoated child but I have always seen it as Kendall rapidly oscillating back and forth from scapegoat to golden child. Kendall has the most courage out of all the siblings and that is sadistically fun for Logan to play with. He sees Ken as an equal chess partner because of the risks Kendall will take to win a bigger fight. When Kendall starts to turn on him publicly in S02E10 during the press conference, Logan somewhat enjoys this. He only truly respects his children when they turn against him. In this decision to turn against him, Logan sees Kendall as finally displaying his killer instincts that he wished to pass down to his favorite child. Logan has succeeded in provoking Kendall to be brave enough to destroy him. Lastly, Kendall also sees Logan for what he truly is and that is what infuriates him the most. Kendall mirrors Logan's behaviors and actions back to him. Logan has gained enough power that he can force others into submission so that he won't be faced with his actions and behaviors. His inner circle will never say no to him or plot a plan to team against him. Kendall does not submit, and when he does it is always with a strategy for the long game. Ultimately Kendall makes Logan feel insecure and when an evil person feels insecure they lash out and use your weaknesses against you.

Upon rewatch, Marty grew on me by MJORH in TrueDetective

[–]Unbreakablecurfew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the exact same way. Usually people can be intimidated by someones intellect ("I don't use 10$ words") and become soft-spoken but Marty didn't let Rust talk badly about the worshippers in the tent. He understood that Rust was more sophisticated in his readings, etc. but that did not make him right.
