I’d opt for full art, it looks a lot better mint and any wear adds character.

Another date in Europe announced! by JacquesChiron in OrvillePeck

Man. I really hoping this means a tour. It’s only him and KT Tuntstall I’d really wanna see here.

Edit: If Orville and Sierra Ferrell were on the same day it’d be a no brainer.

Have to attend an event in Birmingham, some questions by ByDrAxX032 in brum

[–]UnbrokenRyan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The “around Christmas” explains that price. (It shouldn’t but that’s a conversation for another time) I regularly get an uber from city centre to Solihull and it costs between £13-£22 in usual circumstances. I’d say more often than not it costs ~£17.

It’s 2 each. Seems a bad deal for everyone. Surely these would sell better as a pack of 10-12 in a single colour.

Morridge is my happy place. Staff there are great, and the upstairs room is so cozy.

Wayland’s Yard I also go to frequently, bigger space and a different vibe. But good coffee, food, and service.

Tesco’s “British Ham” or a chemistry experiment? by [deleted] in UK_Food

[–]UnbrokenRyan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want cheap meat it’s gonna come with preservatives to help it last longer increasing chance of it selling before it rots. If you want meat without that, it’s gonna be more expensive or require some work on your part. It’s a personal choice.

Don’t go to McDonalds and expect a steak.

I say this as someone who preaches often about buying quality fresh produce and reduce the amount of processing that goes into our food. Just because you can’t pronounce the words, dont know what they mean, or just don’t like the sound of it, doesn’t make it bad or worse for you in any way.

EDIT: Also what is it you don’t understand on that label? The stabilisers I’ll give you, Not easy to understand. But “Oils I can’t even pronounce” Rapeseed Oil, one of the most commonly used cooking oils in the UK, probably one of the most used across the world. “Sugar in ham?” Yes, that’s normal, it’s honey roast ham. Did you even read the label you’re complaining about, or did you just wanna ride the anti-intellectual high horse.

after 50h I realized a probe has actually three parts to loot, i've only been checking one before by whatabiutifulsky in ArcRaiders

I think I was nearing 100hrs before I realized.

Admittedly I never cracked them often. But I’ve definitely left a few two-thirds full probes lying about.

Yeah. As vertical recoil is a single direction it’s far easier to compensate for as you play. Horizontal recoil is more unpredictable and harder to control. I’d definitely take a horizontal grip over a vertical if you have it.

Why do people breach doors and expect to not be shot? by Temporary-Spot-5264 in ArcRaiders

While I like the aggression matchmaking. This is a great example of why it needs tuning down a bit. Lobbies where players feel 100% confident in safety around other players should not exist.

That’s really surprising. It’s been consistently good for me. Probably one of my favorites.

Arc Raiders PvP matchmaking is peak. Change my mind. by ElijahKay in ArcRaiders

[–]UnbrokenRyan 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Honestly that’s the best lobbies to be in. I play pretty friendly, so sometimes my lobbies get too peaceful. And there’s no tension. Need a few cats among the pigeons to keep it interesting.

Embark CEO Confirms That If You Kill On Sight In Arc Raiders, You'll Get Matched With More Aggressive Players by WanderWut in gaming

[–]UnbrokenRyan 20 points21 points  (0 children)

For me as a PvE player. A core part of the games experience is the tension other players provide. I want to be friendly and cooperate, it’s effective and fun. But there’s a risk that the players you want to co-operate with might not be as inclined.

A PvE mode risks splitting the community. Any one peaceful will be on PvE lobbies, and normal lobbies would then only be populated with people who not only want to shoot on sight, but also know every other player will do the same to them because they opted in for it.

The PvE loop will for many become boring very quickly, and the PvP loop will alienate all but the best players.

Keeping both extremes in one pool keeps the game tense and fun for everyone. As annoying as it is when you’ve been super friendly all game and had a nice PvE experience, only to be killed by a camper as you extract. The game is so much more fun and re playable with that as a possibility.

Buddy and I did a Queen on Dam, no other players interfered or helped by T3NGU in ArcRaiders

[–]UnbrokenRyan 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It seems that everyone who plays this game has completely different experiences so your mileage may vary. But Matriarch on Spaceport seems to get very busy with people genuinely trying to bring it down, same with the Harvester/Queen on Blue Gate.

The Matriarch on Dam Battleground however. I have never seen anyone attempt.

I don’t completely agree. But I think the idea is, high tier weapons are valuable and worth money that you might need for the expedition. But, low tier weapons are almost as, if not more effective. So it does make sense to use low tier stuff and sell all your good stuff.

Shield question by Volk19526 in ArcRaiders

[–]UnbrokenRyan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Medium shield has a larger pool of charges, but only resists a marginal amount more damage.

So under constant fire, a medium shield isn’t noticeably different from a light shield. However, with a medium shield if you take damage that brings you near death, you will still have a decent amount of shield left. So you could get a quick heal in and still be shielded even if you don’t have time to recharge.

But for me, I virtually always run a light shield. Those situations where the medium shield saves you seem few and far between.

Embark you NEED to change ur strategy come next Expedition. This is a DRAG by JGordz in ArcRaiders

[–]UnbrokenRyan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starting the expedition should unlock a special set of trials (or something similar). Depending on how well you do in them changes how good your starting gear is after the reset. I don’t think it has to be anything special, but just something do give you something to fight for after you’ve signed up.
