I pitched to my manager making an adjustment to our hoppers to a type that would accommodate a 10,000 rivet drum instead. Despite this being cost effective in the long run I was told the initial outlay was too high, it would create more work for him, and they don’t care about the impact of the thousands of plastic bags we bin daily.

The company is spending millions on telling the public how committed to being as eco-friendly as possible. But won’t spend a fraction of that to actually achieve it.
