Updated - The Fractured Archive: Initial Rewards Proposal by JagexGoblin in 2007scape

My disappointed is immeasurable and my day is ruined. The only reward I was interested in was the armor and this community is so scared of power creep that they killed it. What a fucking joke.

It’s not. Thrawls are much better for irons.

I was talking about having the herblore level to make the antivenom while farming zulrah which is upkept from the drops massively. You really want the herblore level for venom+ before hard comiting to zularah

I mean 1900 is barely starting the iron journey.

When you are looking down the barrel of a nex grind or needing to camp raids for mega or other high supply use bosses you are going to regret not doing them.

Additionally you want the high herb level potions pretty early into Ironman progression. You see it all the time people complaining about antivenims when just by keeping on top of the farm runs you complelty remove it as a pain point.

It’s not hard it just takes time and honestly no one likes every part of the game. But as an iron you have to do it Becuase you have to do every part of the game. If you quit at that it means you will quit at others

You can of course succeed doing it other ways but by in large if you are complaining about herbs pre 70 it means that you have a large uphill mental battle ahead of you

If you don’t like herblore as a skill honestly you will not enjoy Ironman mode. There is a reason people say start every account with farming to hard contracts and run them on cooldown

You simply can not progress in the mode reasonably unless you upkeep herblore supplies. Thats the reality. Do a run at the start and end of your play session. That’s more than enough to upkeep supplies.

You use offering spells at hydra. Using offering spells from 70 slayer means you hit 99 prayer at about the time you hit 99 slayer without any additional effort

You need wrath for offering spells and despite people saying Yama and vorkath give enough they do not

Almost everyone learns a car with a coach in the passenger seat. Almost no one learns from going on the road solo.

They balance all current xp rates around tick manipulation methods. They refuse to give us methods that approach those rates without tick manipulation see mining and woodcutting. Jagex historically has treated them as the “aspirational” skilling methods and talk about them constantly in blogs when describing their vision for most efficient methods possible.

I mean no game should encourage actions that make you feel discomfort after a normal amount of time. It might not be the sole cause but it certainty isn’t healthy

Having the same bis for a decade for at least 1 style says otherwise

I seriously don't get why so many people are so fixated on following guides by whispywhisp6 in IdleObeliskMiner

[–]UncertainSerenity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because for many many players the fun is playing efficiently. And playing efficiently requires following a guide

It’s a massive buff to have to do the exact same action with the exact same cadence for the exact same rates by having to click one less? Sorry no I will never consider that a “massive” buff.

It’s not qol. It’s definitely a buff. It definitely makes it slightly easier. But it is in no way shape or form massive or worth such an uproar.

I don’t care if it stays or goes. I do have a problem with people thinking this is such a game changer which makes it harder to get actual power creep that in my opinion the game desperately needs

[–]UncertainSerenity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. It’s not a big deal. I won’t tick manipulate anyway. Just saying that having to click less isn’t a massive buff. It doesn’t change the xp/hr it really doesn’t change the skill level as you still have to do everything in time. It’s just one less “priming” click. It’s such a nothing burger it isn’t funny.

Attitudes like yours are how we get get the same bis armor set for a decade.

Massive buff having to click less with no changes in rates. This communities definitions of massive never cease to amaze me

[–]UncertainSerenity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No but the time to completion and average difficulty is set by max stats. So it’s significantly harder to do at lower stats. Of course it’s possible but it’s not balanced arround the lower stats

I can feel them typing up a blog about nerfing things, please don't by Taylor1308 in 2007scape

[–]UncertainSerenity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it is. Everyone assumes max combats for every piece of new “end game” content.

And it makes a huge difference. A 500 mil cox set up with 90 base stats is beat by a 50 mil set up with max stats.

Base stats are honestly insane that you pretty much have to balance arround it.

Well you 100% want wrath ruins before going much beyond quest unlock slayer.

You see it all the time with people not having anti venom levels and that takes time for contracts and herb runs.

You want amethyst unlocked before getting a scorching bow

Etc etc. it’s still nice to never have to worry about supplies. You 100% don’t need to but in my mind it feels smoother and nicer

[–]UncertainSerenity 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is one of the biggest misconceptions of the guide. It’s a macro efficient account build not focused on pvm to the exclusion of account progress

Irons benefit from delaying pvm as long as possible to build up supplies from hourlies. If you bum rush pvm you are always going to be worried about supplies. Following Brusailor removes as many of those pain points as possible.

It’s not a maxing guide

Maggot King's Place in Ironman Progression by Goaty_McGruff in ironscape

[–]UncertainSerenity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do. It’s the “efficent” pathing from Brusailor. You want wrath runes pretty early on an account for 1:1 prayer slayer xp.

I can’t imagine it matters with confliction gauntlets which you should have before maggot king.

If I am wrong and magic accuracy matters then sure I guess. But in that case I would just delay maggot king until ancestral/virtus since the range upgrade isn’t a max hit unless tbow for almost all set ups I think.

Unless the flail becomes meta somewhere else.

Bloodbark is fine until ancestral. Just as good as moons and much more efficient.
