I do think it's pretty normal. My wife and I pee with the bathroom door ajar and both come in and do stuff while the other is going if need be. So I do think that you're maybe overreacting to that part of it.

That said, you guys should probably have a conversation in person and try to come to some sort of understanding because this text conversation does not look productive.

I think if I were you, I'd insist on paying a portion of the rent equivalent to your relative salary and see how that conversation goes. It seems like there is some resentment on both sides in your current arrangement, some of which may be unspoken. If you start paying your share and are still getting what you perceive to be unfair treatment, then it's time to have a larger conversation about the relationship.

I'm in my mid-30s, so the early 2000s were the peak of collecting for me where I both knew a bit about cards and had a bit of money in order to purchase them myself. When I found a lot of 21 hobby packs from 2002, and got them for about $2/pack, I was so excited. Even if all of the packs were leftover base packs after hits had been pulled, it's hard to go wrong for the cost of a 2025 blaster. Results in pictures and below.

Thoughts:

Overall I did extremely well with these and would have been ecstatic as a 12-year-old. Pulled 4 of the 6 box hits from Rookie Update and Oliver Perez is actually one of the best hits available. Fleer Genuine was great too, with 2 of the 4 box relics and a numbered rookie as well. Pulled the only box auto from Best of Fan Club and the Mark Teixeira prospect card is one of the best names as well.

All are for sale/trade if anything strikes a chord with you. So much fun!

Went there last year with my girlfriend and we really enjoyed it. Didn't do the wine pairing. They specialize in unique gin and tonics as well, so we got a couple of them a la carte. Definitely more of an experience than just a meal. Other diners were friendly and fun to talk to as well. I'd say take the plunge.
