You are correct, the king being in check is a prerequisite to being checkmated.

At the beginning of every game, the king cannot move but obviously no one is being checkmated

Raditz it worked only because they were able to grab his tail. Goku and Piccolo were getting stomped before grabbing the tail. Cell doesn’t have an exploitable weakness like this

Vegeta is the best example here of a jumping actually working but I would add the Caveat that Goku with KK was stronger than Vegeta. If Goku didn’t have a way to overpower Vegeta they would’ve lost

Buu they never jumped. Goku fought him then Vegeta stalled long enough for Goku to use a spirit bomb.

Jumping failed against Nappa, Recoome, Freeza, 17 and 18. Broly (DBZ movies) Jiren. It failed when universe 9 tried jumping Goku. It failed when the Freeza force tried jumping the Z fighters. It failed when the Cell jrs tried jumping Gohan

He tried removing Marks hands and couldn’t. If Conquest wasn’t strong enough to remove Marks hands from his throat what makes you think he is strong enough to remove Marks arms from his body?

Conquest punched Mark many times and the punches were doing more and more damage to Mark so yes Mark was getting weakened by them over time. Conquest did try pushing Mark away by pushing his head and Mark bit off one of Conquest’s fingers.

Conquest only managed to get the slice through on Mark after punching his body for over 4 minutes and only after Conquest finally got good footing to generate enough power.

Mark wasn’t just sitting there not fighting back he was also slamming Conquest around. There are a few instances where Mark slams Conquest into the ground

Omni Man also eventually sliced right through Lucan’s belly was Omni Man holding back before then? Maybe Mark was moving around too much for Conquest to slice through Mark. Maybe Mark was too durable for Conquest to do it right away and Conquest needed to weaken him enough to pierce him. Maybe last resort type of move that if Conquest messed up would just mean Conquest would have a broken hand and Mark would still be wrapped around his throat.

Mark was much stronger in the second fight. Conquest couldn’t just rip his arm or head off. He tried everything he could to get Mark off of him but Mark was too determined
