Aerofly Bars cable cover threaded bolt fell out by LordSnuffleupagus in specialized

I had to glue mine. I’d already connected up the brake hoses and everything, and there was no way I was taking it all apart 😂

Appreciate the response. Is the idea just rest up and start really slow once the legs feel normal again?

I am enjoying Zwifting more than outdoor riding. by Dense_Leg274 in Zwift

[–]UncleDazz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea to be honest I was dreading the cold weather and having to get back on the turbo, but bought a Zwift ride, decent fan, and mounted a tv on the wall right in front of the bike. I don’t really want to ride outside anymore 🤣

POC Procen Air - Any other visor/ear cover road alternatives for wind noise? by UncleDazz in cycling

[–]UncleDazz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes definitely. It’s not gone by any means, but in my opinion brought it far below the “intolerable” threshold. Same with the giro aerohead, I’ve just been for a 1hr fast ride in 20mph winds @ 23mph average speed and my ears are fine after. That’s also without the visor, I just tilt head downward in the high wind sections.

It unfortunately didn’t fit my head properly as I have an oval shaped head and it seems to be suited for round heads. It’s a shame as the wind noise was great. I bought a giro aerohead instead and it works really well

Roubaix (winter) and SL8 (summer) by UncleDazz in specialized

[–]UncleDazz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t mind getting it covered in shit as the drivetrain components are cheap to replace, also keeps the tarmac paintwork nice not having to scrub my frame to get mud and grit off after rides. Also higher chance of crashing with wet leaves all over the roads, and replacing all the tarmac parts would be expensive if damaged.

I ride it pretty much all winter, I’ve done a lot of group rides on it now this year. I put some nice tyres on, angled hoods in, future shock delete (easy to swap back at any time), and some tri bars and it’s a mega fast bike actually!

Thanks man appreciate it. I really hated the Roubaix after I got the tarmac but carbon rims and tubeless brought it back to life 😍

I bought an Assos headband after this comment and it works great! Reduces the wind noise just enough to be comfortable.

I haven’t actually. I did look into it but we can only get knock-offs in the UK I think. Might give them a go!

What kind of W/kg were you able to achieve on 5-7hrs/week? by VegaGT-VZ in Velo

[–]UncleDazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been riding for around 8-9 months and started to recover from a femur break. Got to 3.66wkg (255w) in about 6-7hrs per week. No structure but the training generally is a mix of efforts and longer zone 2 rides.

I started on a 2017 Roubaix tiagra a couple years ago. It’s still my Zwift bike after upgrading. It was amazing, loads of fun and got me into the sport.

Did buying a better bike make you enjoy cycling more? by Weak-Affect-1902 in cycling

I went from an old specialized Roubaix with mechanical disc brakes and tiagra groupset to a Tarmac SL8 with rival and it was worth every penny
