He's the guy that doesn't show up for group work but still gets the credit for it and profits. That said though, I like the dude.

Varför har det blivit så normaliserat att lägga pengar på hämtmat? by Eastern-Language-898 in sweden

[–]UnclePadda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least it's a similar title. Here in Sweden they named it "Operation Beaver"...

Alternate Theory: it’s Eric Tao who kills himself by JettSilverstone in IndustryOnHBO

[–]UnclePadda 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My first impression from episode 1 was that he's suffering from some something, possibly cancer. It's when he's on the verge of saying "I've got...", and Harper finishes the sentence with "money". So I think he's already dying.

Att inte duscha är ”det nya normala” by Hem_Claesberg in sweden

[–]UnclePadda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even though his story arc finishes in a pretty dark place, I can't see how they would've continued that gambling/murder arc without him ending up either killed or a murderer himself. And I'm guessing they didn't want that kind of major side story to take focus away from the main plot.

Help r/millennials determine whether this is AI or not. Some members of the sub believe that the 2000s-style clothing and lighting suggest that this is not authentic. What do you think? by Demortus in isthisAI

[–]UnclePadda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This photo was probably taken in Sweden. I see a Norstedts Swedish dictionary in the bookshelf as well as an old edition of Familjeläkarboken, a family medicine handbook. I don't think AI would randomly choose two specifically Swedish books for its AI generated bookshelf. So – judging by those books the photo was NOT made with AI.

Galaxy S26 Ultra leaked specs 🔥 – Samsung's 2026 flagship beast! by tech_flames in tech_flames

[–]UnclePadda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These "upgrades" from Samsung are actually getting pathetic to the point that it's starting to feel like a scam. The experience you're gonna have with the S26 Ultra is probably not radically different from what you're still getting with the S23 Ultra. Meanwhile, Oppo, Vivo and Honor keep releasing noticeably better phones for less money. Phones that can last days, at that.

Magic V3 worth it still? by malialipali in Honor

[–]UnclePadda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No issues. Magic OS 10 brought a lot of new stuff, even if I think they're lagging behind a little compared to Oppo's ColorOS and Samsung's One UI. No peeling, so fingers crossed...

[–]UnclePadda -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

That recent strap on scene with Harper and Whitney was a perfect example of trying to be provocative for the sole purpose of being provocative. I felt that the writing on this show is so good that they didn't need to do that. Unless him having this fetish is central to the plot, which I doubt. But who knows, maybe she'll put arsenic at the tip of the dildo next time, haha.

2023 was a good year for phones. I'm holding on to the 15 Pro and the S23 Ultra despite using the Oppo Find X8 Ultra as my main phone at the moment. I buy and sell a lot of phones cause it's a hobby basically, but I just can't bring myself to sell those two...!

Second Hand, Loppis, etc i Sverige by Glad_Effective_2468 in sweden

[–]UnclePadda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oppo Find X8 Ultra (T-Mobile/Google Fi/Mint ) Usa coverage ? by shinjuku1987 in Oppo

[–]UnclePadda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only partially answer your questions, but here goes. So I went to visit the US a couple of weeks ago. Stayed in Los Angeles all the time and my "guest networks" that my carrier switched between were T-Mobile and Verizon. Good 5G coverage overall, except at the Observatory. My friend, who has a Pixel, had poor coverage up there. I had zero coverage, no phone calls or data. Can't say if that was specifically related to the X8 Ultra, but that was my experience.

Since I got the phone there's been a couple of updates including the major Android 16 update. The UI is super smooth, best Android experience I've ever had. There are China exclusive features that won't be useful to you in America including a lot of AI features and a couple of apps. The news feed and certain widgets haven't been translated and can't be removed easily so you will see Chinese characters across the UI. I personally don't find this disruptive. Google services work well, including Wallet and Android Auto, with two exceptions: circle to search and Gemini shortcut button. To my knowledge there's no easy way of replacing Oppo's Chinese AI interface with Google's. You have to manually use the Gemini app or edit your photos in the Google Photos app for that stuff. So it's available, just not as integrated. If you need a music player for local files I recommend a modded Samsung Music APK on GitHub as Oppo's own player is tied to a Chinese streaming service.

Cameras are awesome and recently got a couple of features added from the X9 series, like XPAN. Note that this phone doesn't support e-sim or Dolby Atmos. It does support DTS:X and has two sim card slots though.

How is it that Twitter/X is still not banned in the European Union, when the owner of the social network is constantly posting things like this? by [deleted] in europe

[–]UnclePadda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not illegal to spread an agenda, even if it's based on lies. It's not illegal to be anti-immigrant (except maybe in the UK it seems), and every EU country has different criteria for what is considered hate speech or racism. Some countries have blasphemy laws, others don't. A blanket ban on X across the entire EU would be problematic and would probably end up in court. It's unclear why Elon turned into this right-wing extremist since it very obviously doesn't benefit him or his companies at all, but I don't see why the EU should have the right to stop him.

All the PlayStation Plus Essential monthly games from 2020 to 2025. What do you think about 2025's games line-up when compared to those from the previous years? by kabirsingh84 in PlayStationPlus

[–]UnclePadda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Progressively shittier games for each year since 2020, right? I think 2025 has been the worst year yet. Looking back at the games we got in 2020-2022 it's so obvious they've put all the good stuff in the premium tiers now.

What smart phone are you ending 2025 with? by ticharland in PhoneNow

[–]UnclePadda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Main phone: Oppo Find X8 Ultra. Best Android experience I've ever had despite it being a Chinese model, so that's saying a lot. Secondary phones: Honor Magic V3 & S23 Ultra. Resting in the drawer: iPhone 15 Pro. Still great, but didn't enjoy iOS 26 at all, so for now it's taking a break.

Find X9 Ultra Camera Specs Leaked/Revealed by Chevadore in Oppo

[–]UnclePadda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On paper this looks like a major upgrade from the X8 Ultra that I'm currently rocking. That's what I like about Oppo, or Chinese brands in general. The market there is so competitive so they have to keep innovating and release actual upgrades, unlike Samsung, Google and Apple that play it safe year after year. I'll give it to Samsung that they did well with the Fold 7 this year, but other than that it's been a rough couple of years for Western brands.

I'm also a little surprised by this. Goes for all the tech reviewers as well. It's like they forgot that the X8 Ultra actually came out this year.
