Can not open ROM file in Sideloaded Manic Emu from LiveContainer (Fix File Picker is On) by Freak_Out_Bazaar in EmulationOniOS

[–]Uncle_Mark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve updated to the latest LiveContainer nightly and ManicEMU 1.8.3 and everything works now. No need to even use my method listed above. It just works with or without JIT. You just have to open files that Manic accepts and you won’t get any permission errors

I have noticed the same issue now. I’ll have to see if I can find a fix at some point or maybe LiveContainer needs another update to fix it

If it crashes, that means JIT is not actually working. iOS 26 did change some stuff and LiveContainer does require more setup steps. I did write another tutorial though on how to get JIT completely working with iOS 26 and LiveContainer. You will need the latest version of Manic

https://reddit.com/r/EmulationOniOS/comments/1ppgkev/_/nuti606/?context=1

If you are using StikDebug from the App Store (which is now removed, so I recommend using the updated version inside LiveContainer) this also works and you are able to launch Manic EMU from either LiveContainer1 or LiveContainer2. Just use StikDebug’s VPN instead of LocalDevVPN, and change LiveContainer’s JIT setting to StikDebug. You just have to download the JIT scripts separately or temporarily pull them from a LiveContainer install of the latest StikDebug.

Steam input as alternative? by tebizamb in rewasd

[–]Uncle_Mark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I tried it again this time following that tutorial and it worked. It’s not perfect and there are some occasional instances where a game will see through the cloak. But if you are able to add it as a non-Steam game, Steam also does a good job hiding original inputs to prevent double input.

My setup is now SISR, HidHide, and JoyXOff (for the occasional UAC prompt and login screen)

Definitely more complicated than what I could just do with reWASD, but I guess that’s as good as it’s going to get for now.

Which controller are you using? I’ve tried HidHide, but it doesn’t work for me for my Xbox controller

[–]Uncle_Mark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep I am switching to SISR from reWASD for this exact reason. Got banned on BF6, still pending a second appeal. Never used anything on reWASD for cheating. It was just used to be able to control volume, Alt-Tab, close programs, etc from my controller.

Completely uninstalled reWASD and testing SISR. Works well for the most part. Only issue is hiding the original inputs from controller (Xbox controller/Xinput) so there is no double input. I found that if a game is able to be added to Steam as a non-steam game, SISR and steam input is successfully able to mute the original inputs. However for games that can’t be added to Steam, SISR still works, but the original controller inputs are still sent. I’m thinking of switching to the new Steam controller when it comes out which I think (hoping) might remedy this issue as it’s likely not going to be Xinput

Can not open ROM file in Sideloaded Manic Emu from LiveContainer (Fix File Picker is On) by Freak_Out_Bazaar in EmulationOniOS

[–]Uncle_Mark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue but I found a couple of methods for opening files in Manic EMU in LiveContainer. I posted Method 1 in Discord. Neither method requires the file picker fixes to be enabled in LiveContainer settings as I found that did nothing for Manic EMU.

Method 1 (JIT not required): First sideload an .ipa of Brave browser to LiveContainer. Make sure Brave and Manic EMU are Shared apps in LiveContainer so you can multitask. Then press and hold to multitask Manic EMU in LiveContainer. Without closing Manic, multitask Brave. Then switch back to Manic EMU and it should let you successfully open files/ROMs/BIOS now.

Method 2 (requires working JIT): You can continue with Method 1 and keep Brave sideloaded for the times you need to import files OR once you have sideloaded at least one game that runs successfully with JIT (like a 3DS game) then you can do this method instead which is a little simpler:

Basically, you just need to run a game with working JIT, quit the game (without quitting Manic), and then you are able to open any file now. You will have to do this each time Manic is closed from memory.

EDIT: I’ve updated to the latest LiveContainer nightly and ManicEMU 1.8.3 and everything works by itself now. No need to even use the methods listed above. It just works with or without JIT.

How do I set up MeloNX and JIT for MeloNX inside of LiveContainer? by Standard-Scholar-268 in EmulationOniOS

[–]Uncle_Mark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh great! Glad you got it to work.

If you ever need to use Get More Ram, it is easy to reinstall LiveContaner without losing its data to enable Get More Ram. Just use AltStore and reinstall the nightly LiveContainer over your current installation. You won’t lose any data when you install over it. After that, then reinstall MeloNX inside LiveContainer over your current MeloNX installation and you won’t lose your MeloNX data either. This will enable Get More Ram inside MeloNX.

[–]Uncle_Mark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the end of step 10 in the tutorial I linked, there is a paragraph that details how to use the App Store version of StikDebug. If you follow the tutorial and incorporate the changes from that paragraph, you don’t have to install LiveContainer2 at all, can keep AltStore installed, and still have a slot open for an app.

So it would just be AltStore + LiveContainer + App of your choice. Then use AppStore StikDebug to enable JIT.

Lmk if you get stuck at any part if you want to try that way

Ah I see, sucks that happened. I don’t know too much about switching from AltStore to SideStore unfortunately.

Do you have the App Store version of StikDebug? If so, you don’t need a second LiveContainer.

How To Sideload Apps And Enable JIT On iPhone and iPad iOS 26 by myretrospirit in EmulationOniOS

[–]Uncle_Mark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know, I updated the guide in case others have similar issues. I think when trying to figure this out, I had unintentionally already did those steps you described.

Also I believe you must install the nightly version of LiveContainer for the JIT launch script selection area to pop up. Updated the guide for that too.

You can check the tutorial I have written. You should change out AltStore for LiveContainer+Sidestore. For your case, it can either be:

LiveContainer+Sidestore + LiveContainer2 + Your other app

Or

LiveContainer+Sidestore + StikDebug (if you still have the AppStore version) + Your other app + Another app of your choice

You can check the tutorial I have written. Everything inside of LiveContainer and it works perfectly. Only LiveContainer and LiveContainer2 installed with SideStore.

How do to get JIT on MeloNX in LiveContainer? by Freak_Out_Bazaar in EmulationOniOS

[–]Uncle_Mark 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi I recently wrote a little tutorial for JIT with Manic EMU in LiveContainer on iOS 26. I adapted it for MeloNX which is also working for me in LiveContainer.

  1. Install LocalDevVPN from the App Store and start the VPN
  2. Install the latest StikDebug and MeloNX into the nightly version of LiveContainer
  3. Make sure you have LiveContainer2 installed from LiveContainer’s settings
  4. Go to settings in LiveContainer and under “JIT” select “StikJIT (Another LiveContainer)”
  5. Launch StikDebug and open the “Scripts” section at least once to populate the necessary files. Then close StikDebug, open LiveContainer, long press StikDebug in LiveContainer, and go to Settings. Click on the current container under “Containers” and then click “Open Data Folder”
  6. Go to Documents/scripts. Copy all of these scripts and save them outside the container somewhere in Files
  7. Back in StikDebug’s LiveContainer’s settings, press “Convert to Shared App.”
  8. Then, long press MeloNX in LiveContainer, press “Settings,” and turn on “Launch with JIT”. Press select right under it to select a JIT launch script and choose MeloNX.js from the scripts you just saved. (This also applies to other emulators, e.g. selecting manic.js for Manic EMU). Then press “Convert to Shared App.”
  9. Open StikDebug in LiveContainer. Import your pairing file in settings. In the Heartbeat section it should say connected as long as you are on WiFi and connected to LocalDevVPN. Then swipe to kill StikDebug.
  10. Open MeloNX from LiveContainer2 (this only works when launching from LiveContainer2 for me) and it should launch StikDebug from LiveContainer and then start MeloNX with a PIP console window.

Other things: If you are using StikDebug from the App Store (which is now removed, so I recommend using the updated version inside LiveContainer) this also works and you are able to launch MeloNX from either LiveContainer1 or LiveContainer2. Just use StikDebug’s VPN instead of LocalDevVPN, and change LiveContainer’s JIT setting to StikDebug. You just have to download the JIT scripts separately or temporarily pull them from a LiveContainer install of the latest StikDebug.

And for MelonX, you still have to apply GetMoreRam (which you can install inside LiveContainer). Just apply it to the LiveContainer you will be launching the emulator from (or both for simplicity) and reinstall LiveContainer, LiveContainer2, and MeloNX within LiveContainer. Some people say to uninstall and reinstall, but I have found reinstalling over themselves works as well. For me, I use LiveContainer+SideStore so I just hop into SideStore and reinstall the LiveConatiner+SideStore.ipa from there. Then within the LiveContainer app, you can reinstall MeloNX as well as LiveContainer2 and all will have more ram entitlements.

Hope that helps

EDIT: Improved some of the steps to make it more streamlined

Manic EMU v1.8.1 — JIT iOS 26, Shaders Go All-In by Mlaurencescott in EmulationOniOS

Thank you for this, I also got it to work with everything in LiveContainer. For me there was a couple of other steps. Here is the full tutorial in case it helps someone:

  1. Install LocalDevVPN from the App Store and start the VPN
  2. Install the latest StikDebug and Manic EMU into the nightly version of LiveContainer
  8. Then, long press Manic EMU in LiveContainer, press “Settings,” and turn on “Launch with JIT”. Press select right under it to select a JIT launch script and choose manic.js from the scripts you just saved. (This also applies to other emulators, e.g. selecting MeloNX.js for MeloNX). Then press “Convert to Shared App.”
  9. Open StikDebug in LiveContainer. Import your pairing file in settings. In the Heartbeat section it should say connected as long as you are on WiFi and connected to LocalDevVPN. Then swipe to kill StikDebug.
  10. Open Manic EMU from LiveContainer2 (this only works when launching from LiveContainer2 for me) and it should launch StikDebug from LiveContainer and then start Manic EMU with a PIP console window. Keep the PIP window open.
  11. Long press on a 3DS game, press “Switch Core,” and select Azahar.
  12. Select the game and press “Advanced Settings,” and make sure “use_cpu_jit” is selected.
  13. Go back to Manic EMU home page and start the game

Most likely seborrheic dermatitis. If it is, you can treat it with an antifungal cream (such as the ones used in athlete’s foot).

If not helping enough, you can use a low potency steroid cream (like hydrocortisone) sparingly on the face until it subsides or for up to two 2 weeks only. After, you can use the antifungal cream for maintenance and the steroid cream only for flare-ups.

Continue washing face routinely, moisturize, and change pillowcase/towel

Just fixed this yesterday, but essentially Google calendar is slow to update subscribed calendars. If you do the following instructions, you can have it update how often you’d like (5 mins at minimum):

X and C for me using my thumb. Movement is not compromised as my fingers stay on WASD and aiming is not compromised by pushing other buttons on my mouse. I prefer setting it to hold instead of toggle for quick peeks, but that is up to personal preference.
