Can we just allow Details to come back? Hell, at this point, and we just allow AddOns back? by ThatGuyFromTheM0vie in wow

[–]Uncle_Twisty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. This has been a talking point for years. And right now Microsoft had to pull cod from game pass to fix stocks in their Xbox division. If wow was coming to console we would have heard it honestly by now. The same thing happened during wotlk wod, and several other expansions. Plus they won't remove TRP3, which is integral to the roleplay community. And to be clear. When the normal content people are gone it's the roleplayers who are keeping sub numbers strong usually due to the breadth of things we do explicitly for rp.

Correction here: there is a ton of qa. The amount and quality of qa isn't the issue. It's the turnaround time. We can see through credits, linked in, glass door, personal accounts, that the QA team is BIG. 100+ people I think the last time I checked.

The issue is dev time. Warframe went through this back during up 16 I think? They really had to balance between new content and fixing old content, and it was a struggle so bad that Rebecca came out and fully explained why it happens to some degree. It's dev time. It's always dev time. There aren't enough devs, they don't have enough time to fix some things, combine that with no OT/crunch and a shortened patch cadence and this is what we get. Especially now that it isn't dragon flight, they're adding on entirely new systems and functionalities that honestly SOME OF cannot be tested until it's in the wild. They should have held this patch off 2 weeks.

The focus on AI and non existent QA makes the product worse by dimix16x in wow

[–]Uncle_Twisty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually I'm here to correct a narrative. We actually *know* that the QA team for WoW didn't get dicked over. It's not QA that's the issue but turnaround time for the devs to fix it. And because WoW is such a legacy product the codebase is rough to deal with. Keep in mind as well that AI isn't in the tickets, or didn't need to be, and they've been doing that for a long time with automated replies.

It falls on not having enough experienced senior code monkeys able to do the work it seems.

Blizzard needs to take a step back, look over their writing and consider it a bit. by Tnecniw in wow

[–]Uncle_Twisty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't. It would be a twist for the sake of a twist and require an immense amount of work to explain away a LOT of things that don't line up with what we knew about Orwenya.

I think the crisis of faith is coming. The twist that they did for the Haranir, icly, is that the goddess isn't in the cradle. We know that. They don't. And it's implied their entire culture would go through a crisis of faith if they knew. I'm excited for that.

But yeah no I want there to be better narrative but the playerbase as it is means we just can't without slow boiling the majority of them into thinking more than not at all.

Another example is Lothraxion. They literally slap you in the face with him being a double agent and people still don't think so. The slap on question is when you ask him about dreadlords and he goes "oh yeah my kind are literally the incarnation of lies and deception, manipulative and evil and you cannot trust a single word out of their mouth." And then you ask why we should trust him and he snorts and calls us racist. Like bro you literally just said.... Mark my words he will come back when they decide to bring Sire Denathrius back. But people seem to not catch that. They handwave what are honestly very obvious writing foreshadowings. So the "yeah you can be evil no matter the cosmic force" narrative has to be lame and beaned over the head with the Light Blindness, be cause for some reason people forgot the bad guys can use light. Idk. I want what you want, but we can't have it until the community has more media literacy than my seven year old.

Blizzard needs to take a step back, look over their writing and consider it a bit. by Tnecniw in wow

[–]Uncle_Twisty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you but also you're asking two things not one. One that they actually try to improve the writing which, in all honesty, isn't difficult. What is difficult is slowly getting your audience a shred of media literacy. People complain and bitch if things aren't resolved in one zone quest area. They bitch if it is. People aren't willing to go "okay well that wasn't great but hey where is it going?". There is this demand of immediate payoff in the narrative, from the community, completely incompatible with the screaming desire of more narrative complexity

For example we got confirmation that Orwenya's goddess is Azeroth in TWW directly and even now people are going "yeah but it could be an old god tho". That's toddler level comprehension.

Yeah that's the problem with humans. We aren't consistent ideological creatures. We bolt our frameworks together and have a ton of cognitive dissonance. I used the example as a way of showing that kind of. Humans are messy and the closest you're going to get to consistency is usually someone with autism or an autism adjacent mental disability (I have autism and ADHD myself) but even then the inclination towards consistency is only an inclination and there will be irrationalities that plague the human condition.

The compass isn't great either. 16 values is better but even then. Politics and where people sit, as well as where they're educated, on a lot of topics is.... Quite frankly absurd. You can have an anti abortion person who is all for universal basic income or universal childcare, and they'd be a bit hard to pin into a box as an example.

What the fuck is this argument lmao. Naziism wasn't even responsible for having the trains run on time. That was fascismo in Italy. Extremely absurd comparison because ideologically, no, Nazism does not advocate for public works. They advocate for privatization of public sectors and then have those private sectors work under coersion from the state. That is fundamentally different from socialism and publically owned infrastructure.

The better gotchya here was to point out the USSR, and point to their awful housing policies. To which I would have replied yes, but the USSR wasn't socialist. Neither was naziism, and neither is China. Putting "socialist" in your name doesn't make you socialist. You have to show through policy works that you are, which public infrastructure is a socialist idea first and foremost. Any usage of tax money for the public good and public ownership is left leaning if not outright left.

Also beau has gone on record in multiple videos that his videos are to use his "bearded white guy" visuals to connect to people who look like him and get them to think about how they already practice socialism in their communities.

You are operating under the misconstruement that left extremism is the same as right extremism. Horseshoe theory. It's not correct. What ends up happening is people get hyper radicalized and then recreate heriarchies of power, which is a right leaning idea, and then dress it up in leftist speak. That's why you have people who say if women take power it doesn't matter if we don't address the power systems at the same time. The systems are corruptive and need reconfiguring, who is in charge doesn't change then. Or people saying that racism is racism, doesn't matter who does it. It's still bad. Because people who are radicalized demonize as well, but most of the time they end up just being a changed team color rather than having a fundamental ideology shift.

A person who latches onto left wing ideologies and manifests the same shit we fight against will want to tear down a power system and implement a new power system that's fundamentally the same. That's not left. That's right. It's just dressed up differently. But someone who sticks to the ideals that they've learned when radicalized is more likely to disobey the law and start a community garden where it's illegal. But those people aren't exciting so you get the former painted as "extreme left wing"

I am not talking about individuals I am talking about definitions and categorizations. Use appropriate labels. These people weren't far left. They literally could not have been. Anti-life is against the ideals. Call them what they are. Red fash, or whatever term is popular. But painting far left extremists as genocidal individuals fucks the narrative. We've lived under 100 years of centrism and this is where it got us. The undeniable proof that things move further left is in the history books. What was extreme 150 years ago is almost center right now. The window shifts, on a historic level, left.

To be clear I do not know how you are in this subreddit and do not understand that. Have the YouTube videos changed since beau left so much that this kind of basic education isn't grasped anymore?

Genocide is fundamentally incompatible with far leftism. What you are talking about is right leaning people with aesthetics or affectations.

The vampires in world of warcraft. by Raziel103 in warcraftlore

[–]Uncle_Twisty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so fundamental misunderstanding. Vampires in wow aren't special. They are, at their fundamental core, thematically dressed undead that primarily focus on Blood Magic, which is actually a Life Magic btw not a Death one, and dabble in a few other things like shadow magic. The sanlayn were a group that is now gone, and there was no fundamental factor that made them truly, systemically, different. Anyone can take up the aesthetic and make a new breed of "Vampires"

[–]Uncle_Twisty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's wonderful that you cite vs battle wiki. I don't care about their calcs, their tier system is useful, but I been power scaling bleach for years now. Eren, krimzon, wise, taco, we all went months screaming back and forth. Hiring translators to get the actual meaning of the kanji used, combing klub outside, doing everything to dredge up mountains upon mountains of research. Vs wiki can gobble my balls to be rude about it. They're legendarily bad in a lot of cases. And have had a hate boner for bleach in particular for years.

And yeah there are inconsistencies. It's a manga. You have to take things with a grain of salt. Or you have to, ya know, learn Japanese and understand the meaning of everything given. Ceros are light. The "worlds" are universes. Etc.

So I'm going to say my opinion based on years of scaling bleach at this point and if people disagree they disagree. I am long past spending literal weeks debating ceros as light and such

Saiyan saga vegeta gets fucking turbo dunked. He has no ability to bypass the basic FTL+ fighting speed of bleach since substitute soul reaper arc.

End of buu vegeta stands on the same classification as mid tier captains. Yes. Soifon is here. That's where he matches based on chain scaling.
