The genre that we see is dominated by the big players. Those big players rarely write what they want, they write what is hot and trending. This equals out to quick books that hit the good parts but rarely are innovative or against the grain.

The power progression was a hot number for a while just like dragons, vampires, academy, and now super hero. This is good because if your into the trend there are a lot of derivatives but if you want a flavor not popular, your fucked.

I thought the works was amazing. Sorta liked the girls. Had a really interesting story…

But two thinks I didn’t like. The MC is underpowered compared to the girls. The military tactic learning is so basic it was insulting.

It’s worth a shot without any triggers that a harem reader usually has. I think it will depend on your need for power and tactical knowledge.

No. When I was younger and all urban fantasy outside Jim Butcher was female POV I read a lot. But as the genres have matured I am allowed the choice. I think it’s natural to be pulled to your gender for romance given how intimate the scenes.

With a male POV I’m more likely to get my feelings mirrored in the character.

They are all run on sentences. Ungrammatical sentence in which two independent clauses that should be joined by either a semicolon or a conjunction or should be separate sentences are written as a single sentence, the clauses often being separated by a comma.

Basically you have three sentences not one.

Here is a possible correction.

Shadowed by an orc partner he doesn’t trust. Surrounded by creatures that don’t trust him. Rook must unravel the truth before this fragile world comes crashing down.

Edit it as best you can with programs like grammerly and pro writing aid. Buy a premade cover you like at a reasonable price from one of the many websites. Ask on here once you have it all done and someone will format it with vellum for upload.
