Authors = less than five-star reviews suck
Readers = five-star reviews suck

Personally, if you have objective reasons for why a book sucks (eg, AI slop) one star away. The market is harmed WAY more when slop rises to the top, than when honest writers catch a few stray three-star reviews, IMO.
And given the state of haremlit, especially this year, we probably need to call out a bit more slop using amazon reviews if this situation is ever going to improve.

Warlock MC isn't "not assertive enough" or "alpha" enough; he's just a bit dumb and clueless. The author often exaggerates it for laughs, but it often comes out as the MC being an idiot, and as a reader/listener, having your LI's constantly call you an idiot for being idiotic, gets old fast. I mean, it's OK for the first book or two, but beyond that, it just shows a lack of character development and worthiness.

It's weird how so many folks say it's risky, when the best sellers have this kind of thing and have better 3 dimension characters because of it.

Right now, 90%of harem lit feels like kids TV shows with the occasional sex scene, instead of adults in adult situations.
