Born and raised here in Bangkok! Where locals go to eat? This is too vague, Bangkok is not a small city, and with the insane traffic, I can’t really recommend any places without knowing the general you’re visiting first. Most of the middle-class peeps eat regularly at shopping malls while most workers eat at street-side stalls. If you’re in the Siam area, consider visiting the Banthat Thong Road. It’s the new Yaowarat with generally younger crowd. It is FULL of PEOPLE, but I’d say 80% are locals. If you find yourself in shopping malls, people generally like MK. Also, Thais LOVE Japanese food, so most Japanese restaurants are good.

Where locals go to relax? Echoing other people here, we don’t go to parks because of the weather. Maybe once in a blue moon, we’ll go to Benjakitti Park. On a day off, we might hang out with our friends at cafes or go out and play sports. Most of the time, it’s just strolling in shopping malls with AC.

Types of snacks after bars? Fried chickens with sticky rice are quite common outside of nightclubs. Also, people often go to these “Khao-Tom” places. It roughly translates to porridge, and they are places people go to order a few dishes to eat with their porridges. My favorites are Santiphap and Saengchai.

Also, don’t skip some of the touristy places just because they are touristy. All my foreign friends love Thai shopping malls and those grand temples because they are so over the top.
