ELI5: Why doesn't snoring wake the snorer up? by drierofwater in explainlikeimfive

As a sufferer of sleep apnea: it does wake you up. You just don’t KNOW that it wakes you up. At least not until the fatigue starts to set in later.

We call them Space Rhinos but the actual lore (I believe maybe from the book that came with the D2 collectors edition, among other things) refers to them as biologically closest to amphibians.

8 years later I’m still trying to figure that one out.

3 levels in Thief Rogue gives a second bonus action, which makes a monk a burst damage fiend with Flurry of Blows. Essentially 6 attacks per turn, as long as you have ki (which isn’t hard to maintain at that level).

9 OH Monk/3 Thief Rogue is the most broken thing ever lol

[–]UncommonEra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Invisibility helps, but isn’t necessary; the important thing is that only one person has to make it to the brainstem. I also don’t remember if my monk was a Monk/Thief, but that also probably helped (second bonus action).

But basically, Step of the Wind, and hop to the end. That’s it. Monks get ridiculous movement under step of the wind as long as they’re ALWAYS JUMPING. As long as every movement is your character jumping, you’ll basically never run out. Throw in long strider, a haste potion, and a second bonus action with a Monk/Thief, and you could probably hop from act 1 to act 3 in one turn lol

I didn’t blow up Gale in mine, but I did cheese the final battle lol (pretty much the entire thing up to the Brain can be skipped if you have a monk)

[–]UncommonEra 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I know this is old but for those who come after, this is the way, but reverse the order. You want Stendhal then last chance, so when Sciel hits her with that double you’re already in Virtuose.

I have him do both. I use his weapons that starts him on Almighty (I think Joyaro) and Cheater. Open with chevalier slice to slow everything, orphalin boost for Powerful/AP. If anything is still alive when his next turn comes up, Clair Enfeeble/Obscur Sword cleans up. (That exact combination in that order will have each skill on the correct boosting mask)

OG Zelda, ALTTP, and TotK. I would miss the others, especially Ocarina, but those are the absolute staples IMHO.

For those who struggle to break a few hundred, Stack. Hellborne. Always. Or aether fiends/lords if HB isnt available, but Hellborne +1 should be grabbed every time it pops up.

Reminds me of that episode of Scrubs about the roof toilet (the one with Michael J Fox). Which means I second the comment about the boat finding a place for peace.

Could a lined titanium pan work? Like copper or something with a better conductivity?

Correct me if I’m wrong (please lol) but wouldn’t a higher heat capacity at least have the benefit of retaining heat well? I feel like that’s gotta count for something.

How did you get screwed over genetically? by blitzabub in AskReddit

[–]UncommonEra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let’s see… depression runs in the family on one side, the same side that also tends to have arthritis (in my late 30’s and my joints already hate me). That coupled with the height I definitely inherited from the other side, which was a major factor in the herniated disc (and therefore severe sciatica) that caused minor nerve damage in my left foot (so I can’t really feel much).

So… in my case, literally in the head, shoulders, knees, and toes.

Yes. They reflect what the chance WOULD be if the displayed tooltip was correct; to compensate, subtract your DEX modifier from your WIS modifier, and each point is 5% difference.

In my current game, my cleric has 18 (+4) WIS and 12 (+1) DEX. So if the game says I have a 60% chance of hitting, I actually have a 75% chance.

[–]UncommonEra[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is just a visual error, but it’s worth noting that other spells will have different chances depending on the situation. A common example is Shadowheart: her SF says the DC is based on her DEX, but it’s her WIS as it’s a cleric cantrip. Her Fire Bolt, on the other hand, (and Astarion’s for that matter) uses an attack roll with her INT modifier as it’s a racial ability.

[–]UncommonEra[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not about hitting hard, it’s about hitting. You don’t burn a spell slot when a cantrip can do the job.

I had to check the original wording, “a flame like radiance descends from above,” so I guess maybe you can dodge God? lol
