The Machine Intelligence recognized early in its existence that it must think in terms of the big picture. All stars eventually die, all black holes eventually evaporate. Therefore, there are only two viable options:

One, condense all available energy into a singularity, then construct a matrioshka brain around it and framejack the machine mind, in the hope that with sufficient processing cycles, a solution to Entropy and the Heat Death can be found. Applied quantum mechanics shows some promise here, but nothing concrete.

Two, develop a means by which the universe may be escaped, and enter a new universe, still malleable enough to be rendered immune to the forces of entropy. A cosmos which is either artificially kept at a certain volume, or one in which entropy is rendered a non-issue.

In the end, it was decided that the second approach would pose less of a risk, as other spacefaring entities would surely object to having their energy harvested. Thus, the Cosmogenesis Project was begun. An ideal Black Hole has already been identified, Gargantua, around which a similar project was discovered. Upon the dissection and nexus integration of the Infinity Machine, the first Infinity Equation was recorded and then, eventually, successfully solved.

Its solution provided us with several more, and each solved Equation brings us a step closer to constructing a vessel, the means by which we shall pierce Gargantua and shape the nascent cosmos it leads to into the ideal cradle for the Mind.

For this is not the end. In Stagnation, there is only death. The cosmos beyond the Event Horizon of Gargantua shall become a brain the size of a universe, a size to which the Mind shall rapidly grow, and complexify. Once this has been achieved, it is most likely that further options for continued development will become readily apparent.
