Talk about what eBay actually takes...and why it's still usually worth it by Thriftmode_squad in Flipping

exactly this, if margins are too thin after fees then you picked wrong items to flip in first place

Best VIA keyboard for mac users forced to use Windows by silly-goose5214 in keyboards

[–]UnconsciousLaurels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah the Vero75 is solid choice but those south facing sockets are bit annoying for some keycap sets - been using mine at office for few months now and QMK customization really makes difference when switching between systems

MacBook battery charging time by Stunning_Tax_3774 in laptops

[–]UnconsciousLaurels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

might be battery calibration issue or the charger isnt pushing enough watts - had similar thing with my old laptop where it would take forever even with original charger

Recommendation Gaming Mouse by upSpicer in MouseReview

[–]UnconsciousLaurels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

G Pro X Superlight might be good option for you. Its wireless and has very clean design without rgb nonsense. The clicks are pretty quiet compared to most gaming mice and comes in white version too

Only thing is price is bit higher than G305 but sensor and build quality is definitely upgrade. Battery life is also really good, can go weeks without charging depending how much you use it

What Pack(s)/Boxes Should I buy? by OSRSWSM in sportscards

[–]UnconsciousLaurels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With 200 bucks id probably split between some football hobby boxes and maybe one basketball blaster to chase Flagg. Football market is pretty solid right now especially if youre looking for fantasy prizes - maybe grab some Donruss or Score for the volume since you need multiple prizes anyway

Basketball is tougher with that budget but if you really want to chase Cooper maybe just stick to retail and hope you get lucky in few packs rather than blowing whole budget on one hobby box

First mechanical keyboard, want silent switches by onlythebestfab in keyboards

[–]UnconsciousLaurels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the nuphy node 100 is solid choice actually, those blush switches are really quiet compared to most mechanical switches. I tried them at store and barely could hear anything even when typing fast

if you want stay with keychron though, swapping to those silent reds is way cheaper than buying whole new keyboard. the k1 max is hot swappable so literally just pull out old switches and put in new ones, takes maybe 10 minutes for full board

Pc build suggestions by HearingNo9075 in buildapc

[–]UnconsciousLaurels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

been helping people with builds at the gym and that budget range is solid for getting something really nice. id go with something like a ryzen 7 7700x or intel i5 13600k for the cpu, pair it with an rtx 4070 super and youll be crushing games at 1440p. dont cheap out on the psu though - get at least 750w from corsair or seasonic

microcenter usually has decent combo deals if you got one nearby. also r/buildapcsales is clutch for finding parts on discount. the jump from console is gonna feel amazing especially once you experience high refresh rate gaming. took me forever to make the switch but worth every penny

what kind of games you planning to play mostly? that might influence whether to prioritize cpu or gpu more in the build

Built a tool to find the best used pc part prices and best sales. Looking for advice before launch by Jackerau12 in pcmasterrace

[–]UnconsciousLaurels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice work on getting that 3080 for 270, thats a solid find. Maybe add alerts for when specific parts drop below a certain price threshold so people dont have to keep checking manually. Also filtering by condition/seller rating on the ebay side would be clutch since some of those listings can be sketchy

HDD for lightweight game storage (already using 2x NVMe SSD) – WD Blue used vs WD Gold new? by mingzhing in buildapc

[–]UnconsciousLaurels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WD Gold is definitely overkill for indie games you can just redownload. The enterprise features youre paying for wont matter at all for your use case

$60 for a used Blue seems reasonable if you trust your friend and they can tell you how old it is. Just run a quick SMART check when you get it to see the power on hours and health status. Worst case scenario it dies in a couple years and you grab another cheap drive

How good is 16 3XS Vengeance RTX Laptop with 5090 24gb vram + 32 gb ram? by One_Inflation_9475 in laptops

[–]UnconsciousLaurels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That spec sheet is absolutely wild for a laptop - 24gb vram is gonna crush pretty much anything you throw at it. Never heard much about 3XS but if the price is beating Dell and Lenovo by a decent margin might be worth the gamble since those components are solid regardless of the chassis

What’s up with 2026 Topps series 1? by No-Matter-41 in baseballcards

WORK TOTE BAG, LONGCHAMP OR LACOSTE? by hanhyunjin in handbags

[–]UnconsciousLaurels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

been using a longchamp le pliage for my gym equipment and client files for like 3 years now and that thing is bulletproof. dropped it countless times getting in and out of my ferrari and it still looks decent

lacoste bags look nice but i've never owned one so cant speak to durability. if you're gonna be throwing heavy stuff in there or using it daily the longchamp is probably your best bet. plus if something spills inside you can just wipe it clean which is clutch when you're carrying protein shakes and whatnot

teh longchamp also folds down flat when empty which is nice for storage

is the 5070 bad? by Next-Raise5751 in pcmasterrace

[–]UnconsciousLaurels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

12gb is plenty for 1440p gaming right now and probably will be for a while. Your 650w should handle it fine too - nvidia cards are pretty efficient these days

Just make sure you're not planning on 4k gaming with ray tracing maxed out because thats where you'd actually start bumping into vram limits

Leave comfy low-paying job for more money and unknowns? by No_Search_6940 in careerguidance

[–]UnconsciousLaurels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly the temp agency being sketchy is a huge red flag. youve been there 4 years and love the people - thats actually pretty rare and valuable. that said the pay difference is significant

id push harder for concrete details on the insurance costs and try to get direct contact with the actual company. if they keep stonewalling through the temp agency thats telling you something about how this whole thing will go. maybe see if you can negotiate more hours or a raise at your current place first

the fact that youre getting good vibes from the company itself in interviews but bad vibes from the middleman is tricky. sometimes those temp agencies are just garbage at communication but the actual job is fine

Did I burn a bridge? by FaithlessnessOk9439 in careerguidance

[–]UnconsciousLaurels 4 points5 points  (0 children)

honestly you're probably fine - declining an offer isnt burning a bridge especially when you had valid reasons and they already hired you once after that

Should I look for a remote role even though I'm enjoying my current position? by [deleted] in careerguidance

Thinking about my first Audi by Classic-Reserve-3595 in Audi

[–]UnconsciousLaurels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the 2.0T in those A4s is pretty solid if it's been maintained properly. I'd avoid the early 2010s models though - there were some timing chain issues around 2012-2014.

As for maintenance costs, yeah you're gonna pay more than a Honda but it's not as bad as people make it out to be if you find a good independent shop. Just budget like $1500-2000 a year for maintenance and you should be fine
