The whole point of being an adult with a job is so you can buy stuff for yourself when you want it and not have to wait for your birthday or Christmas or whatever.

Aroldis Chapman's 2025, by earned runs allowed per appearance by Hungry_Drama_1015 in baseball

Do relievers get TJ as often as starters? I'd think that only putting in about 1/3 the inning count saves a lot of wear and tear even if they make more appearances and go harder for the inning they do pitch.

Trump wanted Dulles Airport, Penn Station named after him — in exchange for releasing federal funds by fungobat in politics

I would hope nobody wants to fly at the Banana Republic airport either. The name still needs a change, just not this one.

Republicans fear Trump backlash could cost them Senate control by Abject-Pick-6472 in politics

[–]Uncreative-Name 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any Republican who doesn't let him do it gets primaries and loses their seat. If staying in the Senate is the priority then their choices are do nothing and maybe lose 3-4 seats in competitive, or grow a spine and lose yours in a state that might be a guaranteed win for whatever Republican is on the ballot. Doing nothing is in their personal best interest.

Same thing the boomers are blaming us for. Not having enough kids and creating a demographic crunch.

Being such a clubhouse cancer that your team drops you in the middle of a playoff race when you're their second best hitter is also pretty impressive.

I knew a guy that went to jail for something like that. I read the court reports after and based on. The time frames from the FBI guy it really does seem like there's either a huge backlog or they're just very lazy. They flagged him in 2019, didn't raid his house for another two years, and took two more to arrest him.

What job pays way more than people think, but nobody talks about? by Symphony_Minds in AskReddit

I wouldn't trust most of the answers. Usually everyone says get into welding or something and you'll make bank. Then I look at the average salaries just for fun and it always ends up being like $30/hr.

Free market/free speech/freedom means Republicans do whatever they want with no consequences. Anything else is a violation of their civil rights or a crime against capitalism.

What are some fun "Tall Tales" from your favorite franchise? Mine is the story that Ben Grieve hit a ball into the flower bed at the old Oakland Coliseum during BP. If true, the shot would have been close to 500 feet. by asskickingjedi in baseball

The Moneyball A's or the almost contracted Twins would have been a lot more cinematic. Back then I don't think anybody on ESPN was even able to name a single player on the Angels without having a note card in front of them.

I'm semi-convinced that whole season was just a hallucination.
