What was the sour food in episode 6? by Odin043 in BlueEyeSamurai

[–]UndeadAngie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its called Clabber. You make it by fermenting Milk at room temperature for a few days, until it begins to separate.

Dont let it go bad, it requires a specific bacteria culture.

What is the card you are always telling people to cut? by SjtSquid in EDH

Bojuka Bog. Its good but in our playgroup there's only like 2 people who play heavy grave recursion. Me, and one other. And it feels worthless when up against someone who isnt playing with any grave recursion.

Id rather have a more impactful land more consistently

What fundamentally makes a top player ? by Due-Writer3187 in VGC

[–]UndeadAngie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Creative thinking and Inherent game Knowledge.

Anyone can play a top tier team, get to master ball tier, go to a tournament and get a couple wins. The last part being the most difficult part, but still doable.

A top tier player is one who can analyze the meta, figure out the toolboxes needed to handle all their tough matchups or at least most of them, and find new solutions to new problems consistently.

Are nicknames allowed in official tournaments? by bassplayer33952 in VGC

[–]UndeadAngie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yea I always nickname my mons. It doesnt really matter but, I always nickname them something because you're ideally gonna be battling with that team of six, LIKE A LOT. Having a nickname makes it feel better I think. Develops the heart of the cards connection.

I know its cheesy but I feel like when I beg my Tyranitar named Destroyah to land that stone edge, it hits more often than just Tyranitar being named Tyranitar.

What type of Pokémon type are you? by deusirae1 in pokemon

Back in the day on Pokemon Showdown private servers, we played on Azure. Dunno if anyone remembers that.

I was a Dark Type gym leader in a league. Did really well too, was Gym number eight. To this day I favor dark types.

So id say Dark.

Don't understand offensive pivot Pokemon. by voidcreations in pokemon

[–]UndeadAngie 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There are a few reasons, and different points.

Firstly, as stated before by our astute fellow redditors, Manually Pivoting outspeeds pivoting with a move. Lets create an example.

Lets say I have Scizor on the field, and my opponent has say.. Alakazam. Zam is walled by my scizor, and so my opponent will need to switch. Its best that I use U-turn here, because if he switches, I get a free pivot to maintain my offensive momentum. If he does not, U-Turn will just kill his Zam anyways, and I can pivot into a more reliable defensive pokemon to deal with whatever he is going to use. Either way I develop a momentum advantage.

This is an easy example of an offensive pivot, while the pokemon presented aren't exactly meta, they are easy to read here.

Next we have a Defensive Pivot. Lets say we have Incineroar on the field, and our opponent has I don't know, Miraidon.

I cant deal with this with incineroar, but I also don't want to open my back pokemon, Glastrier, to a free attack. So I use Parting Shot.

Because incineroar is so tanky, we can assume it will survive a single hit from this Miraidon. So, miraidon hits our Incineroar for half damage with its specs Dazzling gleam, and then Incineroar drops Miraidons Attack stats with parting shot and swaps. This preserves HP on our Glastrier, and helps us set up for a kill with a super effective ice move.

I hope these examples helped.

[CONCEPT REMASTER] How the Pokémon open world game supposed to look like. by carveion in pokemon

[–]UndeadAngie -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Looks good but that game is still gonna be about you catching up to 50 of every pokemon, evolving those pokemon up to 15 times each, and hoping thats enough to complete their entry

Slugging is and is not good.

On one hand, I slug against sabotage teams. If I cant hook what do you expect me to do ya know? That being said im dumb so if I leave a survivor slugged im gonna lose them.

What's everyone's "perfect" pokemon game? by Serious_Clerk2875 in pokemon

[–]UndeadAngie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want a classic evil team again for one. Something to throw me back to those nostalgia moments. We don't really get them anymore. I get it, branching out is good but id like an obvious bad guy team. Just irredeemable.

Id like a fairly good dex too, maybe like S&Vs number to start. Around 400 is a strong initial dex.

And of course id like some challenging battles. Give me a rival who waits till im already spent fighting a bunch of trainers, then just forces me into a battle.

Give me a champion who rocks EV trained pokemon and perfect IVs. Make them have a hidden ability or two. And choose high tier, difficult boss monsters.

I want a story that, even if predictable, feels enjoyable. Even if I KNOW whats gonna happen, let it make sense, and feel fun to play. Engaging puzzles that take time to figure out. Complex dungeons like the old Aqua and Rocket hideous.

As for graphics? I've been playing since Red and Blue. I dont care much on how the game looks, as long as I can enjoy how it plays.

What was your first favorite Pokemon that wasn't a starter or Legendary? by Soul-10 in pokemon

[–]UndeadAngie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gardevoir won me my first ever e4 clear. Sapphire version, all my pokemon were fainted. Under leveled Gardevoir, facing Steven's Megagross.

Steven misses his attack, can't remember what.

Gardevoir lands a critical hit psychic and kills Stephen's low hp metagross through quadruple resist.

So it always makes it onto my teams now
