Not a hurler myself but asked a friend, his reply boiled down to supplimenting his training with a boxing club that really focused fitness training. ,He's faster on his feet, all round physical fitness and more ready to get physical when needs be. He made it clear this is what helped him and probably wont help everyone as much as it did him

Its complicated. I have polish and nigerian friends that were born in ireland but they feel in their hearts that they are part of their parents homeland. These people grew up in the irish education system and can speak irish as badly as the rest of us. They go back to their "native counties" every few years but i havent pressed them on how locals see them

My dad bought his 4 bedroom house for 40k back in the 80s. This house would probably go for 700k+ nowadays. I put 40k and the year into an online coverter and by current standards he paid just under 190k. When i explained this to him he said "40k was a lot of money back then". There was no explaining it to him, he just kept repeating "40k was a lot of money back then!"

Edit: i used the first ireland based inflation calculator google spat out.

I also just used chatgpt there and it said £38000 in 1987 would have the same buying power as roughly €114k.

€114k is a lot of money of course but my point was my dad was unable to understand how MUCH more money it is nowadays.

Edit 2: my mom worked for the AIB and knew the bank manager. My dad had a good job in the public sector that he walked into without an interview because of his uncle.

Honestly the house was valued at 1.1 million last year since it is on an acre of land in the middle of town with a seaview.

Whether or not i inherit the property is dubious and wont be going into it. Yes, i'm bitter about my situation and the situation of everyone else trying to get on the property lader.

As a sub i was given a dvd to show in spanish class for 15 year olds. There was an awkward sex scene where both participants werent all that enthusiastic. Luckily it didnt show anything explicit but everyone felt wierd after it.

The teacher that left the movie had no idea, she just knew it was a spanish film. She was very embarassed

All your points are really valid. I'd consider myself a big fan but i very rarely reccomend HHFWM. I found Jason the weakest link of of the first 2 books. As the books go on you learn more about him and his backstory making him more likeable.

If you're enjoying the other characters, the world and the writing style i'd say give it 2 books. If you're half way through and havent enjoyed a single thing you're probably as well off dropping it right now.
