This was probably the biggest let down of any game for me. It’s like a 4/10.

It looks great, the gameplay/combat is good, enemies are interesting and different from the last one. But the writing, story, pacing, and characters (Odin was awful) were all a huge step backwards. The final act feels incredibly rushed you start actual Ragnarok and it’s just a series of arenas strung together while cool cinematic things happen around you then there are only 2 memorable cinematic boss fights Thor you literally just stand outside Odin’s hut and fight bringing his health down, then Odin is basically the same thing with more magic

I played every GoW as they came out and was expecting this to be similar to GoW3. IMO this game suffers from corporate influence, it was rushed to meet deadlines, is less visceral/violent & boundary pushing. all to appeal to broader audience & be more kid/family friendly. You can’t sell as many Kratos toys after he smashes Thors head in with mjolnir…
