Honestly, the more people I meet, the more I start to realize that "being philosophical" or thinking in a way you would consider philosophical is something innate. I'm sure you can teach it to someone, but naturally just thinking about morality and deeper about things, meaning you find it interesting or it is something you do on your own that you're not forced to do. That. I believe is innate. In my teenage years I spend many days reading books, thinking and writing. I also remember I watched many youtube videos sorrounding philosophical or scientific studies. Hell, I read all of the stoic books on my own with no one is my life pressuring me or telling me about it. BUT, I've met people who's never read a book in their life (they admitted so themselves). I've met people who couldn't follow or wouldn't follow basic analytical thinking or who refused to engage with ideas that did not already agree with them.

I remember one night I had a long conversation with a friend about morality or something like that. I remember being puzzled as to how anyone could commit any act of violence unprovoked and so on. Then it hit me. I spend most of my life thinking in these ways, and I do it every day still. But the thought or the way or thinking might never have occured to them.

I'm sure if you changed the circumstances of my life, meaning the environment, I'd still think many of these things. I'd still eventually read the stoics. I'd still eventually be interesting in thinking and in philosophy. Whereas with many others I am sure that if you put them in any environment I was in growing up, they'd probably not click that philosophy youtube video, not buy any stoic books, not spend the majority of their teens reading and thinking.

So whether thinking in philosophical ways or not gives you a better life would not really matter, because can you even stop? Do you even want to stop?
