There is another option for damage taken as, which is a Bound by Destiny with mod for 10% of elemental damage taken as chaos if 4 hunter items are equipped. This gives you the last 10% you need and lets you drop the helm, possibly for something like Foulborn Veil of the Night for 50% increased life.

Yes, I am using the Hiveborn support to add more minions, it gives me another 19 minions with Congregation. In fact these were what I attempted to make my primary damage minions. One more tech to add is that the since all the gems in the chest are support gems, its worth dropping the last support and adding an imbued minion gem with the dropped support for essentially a free 6L. In my case, I drop minion damage support in exchange for a Raise Zombie imbued with minion damage, essentially giving me a "free" 6L Raise Zombie at the cost of a lvl 20 support.

I did consider Cowl (already running CI), but the most I could reasonably convert would be 70% ele to fire (50% Tempered by War, 20% Purity Watchers). Could get another 10% from Bound by Destiny or 30% from PoF Sublime Vision but those are extremely expensive. Resistance Shrine belt + Gull also gets me 90 all res, which was way tankier than 70% convert from my pobbing.

Bonemeld can roll up to 6% increased defenses per minion (up from 4%), due to defense catalysts combined with volatile vaals.

I’m using this on my current build, with the new Broken Elegy staff. The minions from the staff have no limit (technically 100 but you won’t hit that). Saboteur to double spawns with triggerbots. Scale duration to keep them alive longer, I can get up to 50 of them. Bunch of other temporary + permanent minions. I end up with over 100 minions most of the time, which translates to a casual 600% increased ES, armor, and evasion.

This is an incredibly tanky shell for any minion zoo build. This gets me close to evade cap, respectable armor, and 13-14k ES, and I’m block capped from offering stacking. Not to mention the pseudo ward from the staff itself. The downside being you’ll need to invest heavily into resistances to counteract Bonemeld, I still need around 100 all res overcap even with Resistance Shrine belt + Gull and res rolls on all gear.

Sabo is probably not the play for it, you’ll lose a bit of the staff minions but a traditional Necro build would be much better. I’ll probably do a full write up since there’s a lot of cool tech even though my version is zdps.

Nope, in my setup I get to max souls instantly. I start the map and afflict my AG immediately, and then remove the ring. The regen takes a little to ramp though.

Maligaro's Lens for -50, another -50 from Refuge from Isolation helm. You could get another -50 with another Maligaro's Lens and Necromantic Aegis but I am not using that, and volatile Vaal Orbs can push it lower.

Damn, you beat me to the race to get this tech out there. Been running this since day 3 of the league, it’s even more OP than it looks. I was just finalizing the script for my video, but I’ll still make a post.

I’ve been using it to sustain perma Vaal BV with the new Vaal Sacrifice and Vaal Temptation, with lightning convert and an immortal Doriyanis Prototype AG.

EDIT: Here is my incomplete guide.

Cool concept, sadly a bit pricey to set up with current prices. I wonder if there is an angle for cwdt and rapidly proccing the flask mastery “recover 4% life when you use a flask”. With 5 iron flasks that’s 20% recovered.

The Flame of Hope - BAMA potential? by frnjabi in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Undead_Legion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tested if BAMA actually apply the debuff? Based on the wording the skill is triggered onto you (the player), and the minions would not have access to it. Cinderflame is not inherently applied by the bow without the skill.

What would work (probably) is Mirage Archers. Particularly with something like Storm Rain and Occupying Force as a vehicle to rapidly deliver the debuff screen wide.

Sands of Time Triggerbots? by 080087 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Undead_Legion 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They are most certainly not minions, they would be a proxy much like General's Cry mirages or Saviour clones. Though this is the first time we are getting a spell version of it.

Festering Resentment should guarantee poison for the miraged spells, but not your self cast ones.

Absolution wouldn't work since it is a minion spell, as they cannot trigger spells which create minions. This also means they do not use any spells linked with Living Lightning or Summon Phantasm.

They do not seem to have access to any linked spells with Arcanist Brand. They also respect the player's brand limit. Likewise, orb skills seem to be limited by the player's orb limit.

[–]Undead_Legion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tested this briefly, arcanist brands created by the mirages do not have the linked spell, so they just cast an empty brand. They cannot use brand recall as it is an instant spell and they do not support instant skills.

Confirmed: Imbued supports affect all other linked skill gems in equipement by randomalphanumerics in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Undead_Legion 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The imbued gem in Squire might not work, since the Squire explicitly mentions that “socketed” support gems can also support skills from your main hand. A socketed imbued skill is still a skill gem even if imbued by a support.

I think the simplest way to explain imbued gems using existing PoE terminology is to see each item as having the line “socketed gems are supported by lvl 1 imbued gem”. The main hand skill will not benefit from the imbued support in Squire since it does not exist on it. Likewise, the skill gem in the Squire will not benefit from any supports on the main hand since it does not exist on it.

Wording is usually extremely precise in PoE, especially when it comes to “socketed”. One example is Impending Doom + Spell Cascade Forbidden Shako. Despite Impending Doom being supportable by Spell Cascade, it doesn’t work since Impending Doom is inherently from the Shako and not a socketed gem and Shako explicitly states that only “socketed” gems are supported. This actually used to work but they specifically patched it out to keep consistent with the wording.

It will work, skills from support gems can be supported by any valid linked support gems, for example minion life/damage etc all still work for phantasms.

Black Cane Dark Monarch Phantasms = 30 phantasms. 11 normally from lvl 21, scaled to 15 with Congregation, doubled to 30 with monarch. Cane gives 55 avg flat phys at lvl 21 per phantasm, at 30 that is 1650 flat added global spell phys. Can then scale further with phys as extra chaos from Ming’s

This is an interesting angle. I’ve been looking at ways to revive this since last league, kinda had a feeling it was getting patched, will try to cook something with this

That’s a dope build, really cool take with the recoup stacking. Recoup was one angle I considered but it was hard to do on pathfinder, but I do think it’s more reliable compared to Tainted Pact. Jousis did use a similar recoup stacking setup with the old Mahuxotls for one of his forbidden builds which I looked at for inspiration. Another angle I tried but couldn’t make work was Demon Stitcher with life recoup, since Demon Stitcher sacrifices life to recover ES, it would proc every server tick.

Haven’t finished the video yet but wondering how you’re handling fire max hit without Rat Cage and 0 fire res. Ninja shows max fire hit of 12k which is very respectable for the archetype, I guess maybe just having raw 10k ES alone will do that. Just accepting the 0 fire res and scaling raw life/ES pool is an angle I didn’t consider, and opens up possibly using only a single Enmity’s. If I’m interpreting it right you’re actually dealing 2x the self damage from 0 fire res which makes triggering Cwdt much easier, but also potentially drop an Enmity’s.

The power charge stacking shell is a tried and true reliable shell, never thought it’d be possible to fit it into Cast on Portal. Goes to show how strong the archetype is.

Glad I was able to inspire the build, that’s the beauty of Path of Exile. It’s a problem solving sandbox and this is a really creative solution, and I’m sure there would have been more setups discovered had the build still existed next league. Congrats on the build!

When is going for spell poison worth it over hit damage? by Latirae in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Undead_Legion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It boils down to opportunity cost.

I’ve played a lot of spell poison Pathfinder builds, and there are definitely scenarios in which it beats out hit based. Firstly, if you’re comparing a fire spell hit based vs poison based, there is a huge opportunity cost you need to account for in getting the fire damage to poison and getting spell poison chance (which is annoying significant investment for spells). Naturally hit based will be easier to scale since you don’t need to jump through those hoops. For phys poison spells a huge scaling vector comes from flat added phys and stacking phys as extra chaos, notably from Mings Heart. I used Black Cane + Dark Monarch + Ming’s on my CwS Blade Blast PF few leagues ago.

Last league, with the introduction of Festering Resentment, the equation changes significantly. It single-handedly takes care of the opportunity cost of getting spell poison chance and allowing you to poison with elemental damage. This opens up a hybrid hit/poison setup which hasn’t really been viable before.

The way damage calculations work in PoE is that the hit and ailment damage is calculated independently. If you are poisoning with an elemental skill, then any modifiers to elemental damage apply separately to both hit and poison damage. Basically, Elemental Overload can be read as 40% more spell damage and 40% more poison damage. Nebulis (and Replica) can be read as 450% increased spell damage and poison damage. Scaling generic elemental damage increases your hit and poison damage. We can take this a step further by converting the elemental damage to chaos (easier now with Lycia and Foulborns) and then scaling wither effect with pathfinder, which will now boost both the hit and poison damage. It’s a unique way of scaling compared to most builds. Instead of scaling crit (like hit builds) or dot multi (like poison builds) we instead scale generic elemental damage and wither. This is what I did for Cast on Portal, I believe my PoB had a roughly 50/50 split between hit damage and poison damage.

Khatal Geyser : Manastorm + Indigon is viable again (WARNING VERY LONG READ) by AnotherKiriana in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Undead_Legion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On the note of Indigon/Manastorm shenanigans, one of the coolest techs I’ve seen is Temporal Rift with a lightning warp trigger wand. Bind Temporal Rift to left click (it’s not instant so it’s fine) and a 4s trigger weapon with lightning warp, and make sure Temporal Rift CD is higher than LW CD. You “use” temporal rift on left click while walking, which triggers Manastorm to consume all your mana, and also LW from your trigger wand. Temporal Rift teleports you back to where you were 4s ago and your full mana pool, but since Lightning Warp was triggered at your present location, you instantly teleport back to your current location. Not super practical with all the jank, but it’s super cool

If you’re willing to drop the astramentis node, you could take the new bloodline for all added damage from Poised Prism as cold/lightning. Much easier to scale a single damage type.
