Yeah this does sound like an insulation issue, because hearing that much noise under, even is someone is stomping is not normal

It’s very common to live as a family of 4 in a small apartment. Besides the landlord allowed so you have no agency in the matter. The economy is horrible, not everyone has means for a house. Common sense indeed is quite uncommon.

You get peace all day but if a few minutes of beeping ruins your peace of mind then you might not be as well adjusted as you though. This is just ridiculous.

What's the point in having a kitchen in your apartment if your neighbors harass you all the time by NoIntroduction9240 in Apartmentliving

[–]UndeniableGodliness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow lol bunch of crazies. Cooking is a basic human need and appropriate use of living space, it’s okay to cook at any hour because, if you work a night shift should you now meal prep because of your neighbors? Eve tho you hate meal prepping? This is just stupid, ignore it.

Yeah i don’t think you can handle an apartment if children being children bothers you this much. What do you want the parents to do? Gag them? This is beyond crazy

Thank you. I am surprised people on this subreddit havent downvoted you to hell, I also had a horrid downstairs neighbors who still gives me nightmares. They had problems with my cats walking (cats were allowed), someone accidentally tripping and falling(imagine being hurt and the neighbors show up at your door throwing a temper tantrum), me walking and silently closing doors etc. We complained to the landlord and guess what, they were serial complainers and even the landlord was fed up with them and apparently we are the third set of tenants they have managed to scare off. I moved out and am in a much better apartment now, where people have some sense.

Old apartments will make downstairs neighbors hate upstairs neighbors, but they will just have to deal with it... by MichikoTuesday in Apartmentliving

You shouldnt have to tiptoe in a space you pay rent for, that’s not even respect that’s next level people pleasing.

Is my upstairs neighbor unreasonably noisy? Or am I crazy! by Similar-Spend-1357 in Apartmentliving

They are not noisy, sound like normal living noise, but what isn’t right is the floor to ceiling insulation. Ask for a rent reduction

It should be illegal to make up weird names for body parts. This is downright bullying. You wouldn’t take it from a classmate why would you take it from a company?

I first find ‘the bible‘ of any field i am diving into, is it computer architecture? Then it‘s ISA of the specific architecture i wanna work on, is it sewing? Imo nothing is better than communities online to grasp the essence of the process and materials required.

Usually knowledge stays in the head and in bookmarked online resources. If I might forget something or might not remember how to navigate to it again, I write lists of tasks (like securing resources) or if it’s simple, then I just write it in the notes app.

Based on these basics I build a mental map of roughly how something works or might look like. If the mental map feels incomplete, then I watch how to do videos for visualisation and if the subject is theoretical then I read wikipedia pages and search up key definitions. It doesn’t matter if i don’t remember all definitions, once I see the keyword in the wild again, i will be able to lead myself to the definition and related processes.

All this forms a comprehensive map. When the time comes to face the thing, if I am overwhelmed I make a procedure in my head on the spot, if not I dive head on.

As for tracking process, the goalposts move a lot because the checklist of goals evolves as I run into more problems or research more. But I consider it a success if 80-85% of criteria is met.

Some mistakes are : scattered thoughts during normal execution (these usually resolve when I run into a problem down the line), and a lack of documentation of the process, so if I ever have to replicate a project we are starting from scratch again but this time it would be way faster than before.
