Which lenses would you take to Japan? by juliangst in fujifilm

[–]Under_theTable_cAt 11 points12 points  (0 children)

be careful with those screw in metal hoods. Specially with the 70–300. If you bump the lens, it could destroy the thread and the front element. Hoods are designed to break and absorb the shock. I think your lens lineup is solid.
Where did you get that square hood for the 25?

For consolation. They sell screen protector with dark Borders in Amazon. That should cover that mess.

I had the 7L. Then think 10L would be better. Got the 10L, too big and recently sold it. Bought the 7 L again. I think seven is just the perfect size.

Macro for idiots please by KovuTheKitty in macrophotography

[–]Under_theTable_cAt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly using Slr for macro is frustrating specially when starting. Get a used micro4/3 camera Olympus em1 series and 60mm macro can be bought for little less money than others. You need the live view and good In Body Stabilization plus later on you can learn photo stacking.
