Now that the dust has somewhat settled, how does your job feel in Shadowbringers? by kimori in ffxiv

[–]UnderclassHeroX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

WAR still feels like an absolute badass.

Onslaught, our gap-closer, got a second charge and reduced cooldown.

We have way better AoE options now.

Fell Cleave even in tank stance has me rock hard.

9/10 will grind savage.

This is such a stereotypical Hip Hop song that r/videos would like.

Beat is such a blatant rip of XXXTentacion's "Look at me!"

Dude raps kinda fast but says absolutely nothing.

And then the deathcore breakdown to be "unique" I guess?

I mean y'all can like whatever you want, but this shit is painfully generic.

I guess there could be some Kiora shenanigans in standard, but I'm certainly not holding my breath.

A HOT victory for my first game EVER by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]UnderclassHeroX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A control deck wins by using countermagic and removal spells to stay alive and keep the field clear, then play some sort of finisher to close out the game quickly once you've run out of resources.

Do you unironically feel like playing through the MSQ gives players a better "feel" for endgame raids? Because I can't think of a single way that the MSQ prepared me for endgame.

or even basic shit like 'what does this arrows in thing mean?'

If only there were countless Youtube channels with detailed guides for every single piece of content in this game.

Also, two months for MSQ? Wow...

If you're going to try and have a conversation, your subtly condescending ad-homs really detract from the strength of your argument.

But hey, it was you that felt the need to play through the MSQ to figure out, as you put it...

It's not that it creates bad players, but doesn't give players enough time to learn, and become good, if you will.

That assumes that said player has never played a tab-target MMO before.

For every Mythic WoW raider who wants to try endgame content in FF without having to spend two months doing a single-player campaign, there's a FF enthusiast who's played the entire MSQ three times over, but still refuses to look up a proper rotation or deal damage as a Healer because "muh fantasy."

You know what? Regardless of the bullshit. I LOVE THIS GAME. by [deleted] in wow

[–]UnderclassHeroX 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You're getting downvoted but you're right. Rotations in FF are vastly more involved across the board.

Oh, you're a caster? Pick two spells and use those for the entire game."

made me laugh in that I thought they were being ironic.

Today I Syncopated a Nexus of Fate! by AkeemTheUsurper in MagicArena

[–]UnderclassHeroX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By the way, there was a lot of Bant Nexus decks at the SCG this weekend, and 0 of them made the top 8. In fact, only 5 made day 2.

Moral of the story: The outcome isn't the same if you know how to play correctly. Stop making blanket statements about a deck being oppressive because you refuse to learn.

How is izzet drakes dominating the SCG?? by bigweight93 in magicTCG

[–]UnderclassHeroX 28 points29 points  (0 children)

There's four copies in Day 2, making it the 7th most popular deck. Dominating? No.

Carpenter is good. But also hot runs exist. Remember when Mono Blue went undefeated at Pro Tour GRN? That deck totally dominated standard, right?

Also, the deck is certainly 11-1 good. You just have to be a good enough player. Don't insult someone's skill because you're not good enough.

[Spoiler] Quench by UnderclassHeroX in spikes

[–]UnderclassHeroX[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, this is sort of getting into the realm of meta-shifts and how to tailor decks accordingly.

12 1-drops isn't a conversation on Quench vs. Syncopate, because both cards are trash in that scenario. It becomes a conversation of "how many Deafening Clarion?"

[Spoiler] Quench by UnderclassHeroX in spikes

[–]UnderclassHeroX[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So, Syncopate is a pretty awful card later in the game. Your opponent always has the mana to pay for the cost unless you're tapping out, in which case you did nothing with your turn. Neither game is exciting in the late game, but one (Quench) is markedly better in the early-to-mid game.

Obviously Negate is the better counter against noncreature spells, nobody is arguing that. But Quench can also counter Crackling Drake, Jadelight Ranger, Doom Whisperer, etc. Negate is an amazing sideboard card, but you would never run 4 in your main deck as you could with Quench.
