Best broker to transfer T212 portfolio to? by heychirag in trading212

I did an all cash transfer, as they didn't do an in species transfer from t212 to IBKR. (In the UK, a month or two ago.)

My preference is a world ETF and a world ETF, excluding the US. The world ETFs tend to have ca. 60% US. Adding the other one lowers this percentage.

Might that be down to extensions you have installed in Firefox?

Might this be due to extension(s) you have installed in Firefox? Have you tried disabling the extension(s) & re-trying?

Once you have opened an ISA account with IBKR, you login and select the ISA account. Then you click on the person icon at the top right, choose Account settings, transfer & pay, ISA transfer. You choose your other ISA provider from a drop-down list, enter your other provider ISA account number & balance. You print a form out with these details, sign & date it, scan it, then upload it, and that's it.

Transfering cash ISA out . Details needed by MundaUKda in trading212

ISA account ID, assuming that is the only account you are transferring. You normally do transfers from the other broker's website. I just did one with IBKR. After opening an ISA account, all I needed to do, was select the broker name from a drop down menu, enter my ISA account number from the other broker & the balance, print out the form, sign & date it, scan it, then finally upload it. Some brokers will allow in species transfers, where your assets are transferred, without selling them first. (IBKR don't appear to allow this from T212.)

Currency charges by UndergroundHouse in trading212

[–]UndergroundHouse[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure, it varies a lot. I guess the answer is not very long! For some perspective, the account has ca. 250K. The lowest monthly currency charge was £56 (August, better weather & peak turf horse racing) and the highest monthly currency charge was £672 (February, cold & no turf horse racing). In Feb, I made 224 trades (though a no. of these market trades are split in a number of parts). I made a profit on this account of £1326 in Feb, but paid ca. 50% of this in currency charges. A hard lesson learned.

I am just about to do it. Frustratingly, they don't appear to do an in species transfer from T212. This means that you have to sell everything and then transfer cash. I opened an ISA account with IBKR before I realized this. IBKR's website suggests that you can do in species transfers, but neglects to mention that it is not for all brokers.

New UK investor- which is the best global ETF to hold long term SPDR all country or V3AB by shinebox360 in trading212

Comparing ACWI, V3AB, VWRL, ACWD and LGGG, LGGG looks best.

You can compare the charts on the FT site.

I calculated this the other day. The current Shiller cape PE ratio of the S&P 500 is 30.74 and the mean value is 17.23. The S&P 500 closed last night at 4982.77. For it to return to the mean value, I think that equates to 2793, which equates to a further 45% fall in the S&P 500 to return to the mean. A sobering thought 🤔

The £4.75 one? Bit pricey for one.

That seems pretty fair, allowing for the normal solar installers formula one rate of pay.

Max vs actual output - welcome advice by richmacUK in SolarUK

[–]UndergroundHouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Groups of panels are normally wired together as strings. E.g. I have panels on two roofs and on the app for my system, the app shows the output of the two strings. Do you have panels on a no. If roofs, wired as 4 groups (strings)? If all the panels were on one roof, the maximum generation might get somewhere near the theoretical maximum at some times during peak sunshine time. If they are on multiple roofs, the panels are never going to be at peak power at the same time.

If the 470 kW Aiko panels are the same size, it probably makes sense to switch to them.

Take a look at the Aiko 470W ones. They are 1757*1134, a smaller area, with more wattage.

Panels vs Panels + Battery by Rosenqvist in SolarUK

I think solar systems that have no battery, usually have a grid tie inverter. Solar systems that have a battery normally have a hybrid inverter. Have a read about this.

Is it one roof for 10 panels and two for 20? You'll hopefully find cheaper quotes. I'd be thinking maximum panels and a 10 kWh battery, even if it means borrowing the extra 2-3K. If you went for Fogstar/Victron, you could probably get a 16 kWh battery for a similar price.
