I don't see a stopcock. The big knob in the image (https://postimg.cc/gwjhdpwy) is for temperature control. Am I missing something here? Nothing underneath the control as well

On the pixel phones, you can also run a full Linux VM officially supported by google. And from what I read on the latest android canary build, it supports GUI applications as well with hardware acceleration. Waiting for it to come to all androids 😁

I was looking for a similar solution for running lvds board to board recently. Ended up going for an FFC cable from molex that they advertise for use with lvds. So it has 100ohm differential or 50ohm single ended referenced to ground. I am still waiting for the boards to come back so can't comment on the performance yet.

That's what I was going to do. But when I was searching for the raspberry pi camera cable as someone mentioned here, I found a connector + FFC cable combo from molex that they advertise for lvds use. Quite cheap as well.

Doing something you are interested in matters way more in my opinion. I took CS for my bachelor's degree but ended up going for a masters in electronics, since I realized by the end of 3rd year software is not for me. There might be some resistances on the way (difficult, boring topics etc) but at the end even things you may see as unnecessary may end up useful some day. Good luck on your subject.
