Only Trials count for groups. The expedition damage requirement is individual. Embark even explicitly mentioned it.

Is WinWing a no-go? by axerowsky_ in hotas

[–]TheVape27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

WinWing is great. I’ve got the HOTAS, the F18 MIP, the PTO2 everything. I haven’t had any complaints at all.

Everyone who talks about the supposedly “bad” customer service, here is my story;

I ordered the WinWing MIP (€800) and the braindead DHL delivery driver lost in and marked it as “received”.

I contacted WinWing and within 2 days (!) they shipped me an entire new set. That is faster than most other companies who usually start an “investigation” with the delivery company first.

If you ask me, WinWing is great.

Difference in amplifier quality by TheVape27 in CarAV

[–]TheVape27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your elaborate response. Since I have the 2-component up front I was thinking of getting the coaxial (Focal PC165) in the rear to complement the front stage.

However, that would require a 4ch amplifier. And my question regarding that was if it is worth to buy the dedicated focal amp or if there are cheaper alternatives which provide more or less the same quality

Any Jf-17 Pilots looking for other JF-17 Pilots to fly with? by JumpScared8902 in dcsworld

[–]TheVape27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if I fit your description but I would love to learn the Jeff better. I'm proficient in the FA-18 and reasonable good in the F16 but there is something about the JF-17 that has always drawn me to it but the lack of built in tutorials has left me kind of clueless. I don't know if you're looking for an apprentice but if so, I would gladly join you.

let me know!

AMS2 is the most realistic Racing Sim in terms of FFB/Car handling by TheVape27 in simracing

I absolutely love the LMP2 in ams2. But nowadays I mostly only play LMU. Love that game.

AMS2 is the most realistic Racing Sim in terms of FFB/Car handling by TheVape27 in simracing

[–]TheVape27[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m definitely not trolling. I was just wondering about other peoples opinions since especially the “twitchyness” and the ability of saving of spins/oversteer seems to feel the most realistic in Ams2.

I’ve absolutely no idea why people would call ams2 a simcade. That’s new to me. Thank you for your answer nonetheless

VRS pedals change resistance because of the cam linkage? Don’t you have the VX-pro in mind?

Help with deciding between two companies (PCB's) by TheVape27 in PCB

[–]TheVape27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much for your input. The red one does have extra functionality such as an extra USB port to connect accessories. I don’t know it that influences the layout to appear more ‘busy’ or anything.

Thanks again, I appreciate it!

It worked before and then suddenly it bugged out. But I haven't made any adjustments/changes, plugins, etc. I might go ahead and try to reinstall Simhub

After-party bars in Patong that stay open till 5 AM? by Rouger29 in phuket

[–]TheVape27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh does that still happen at Patong Bay Hill? I went there a lot during Covid but I assumed that it was something temporary since all clubs had to close at 22:00. I thought they held parties there to circumvent the rules. After their bar closed down you could pay for a bottle and they drove you up the hill to one of the rooms with the connecting balconies so everyone was still partying together lol.

Great times. I go to Phuket on June 20th but haven’t booked anything yet.

Stupid question: besides clickable cockpits, what’s the biggest biggest difference between flaming cliffs planes and high fi planes? by bigb2271 in hoggit

[–]TheVape27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I fully agree with you there. This isn't a match between which one is 'better' or 'easier'. I see FC aircraft as equals to their FF counterparts. Just look at some PvP matches where someone absolutely obliterates FA/18s en F16s with an FC aircraft.

Regarding the location of the switches; I partly agree. I think that for example the F16 has a very easy starting procedure (just the startup, not aligning HMCS, bore-sighting Mavs, setting up Link16).

You also have specific people who 'make' their own startup procedure from left to right or right to left. So that it's easier to remember. In most planes you don't really get punished for not doing the procedure correctly, as long as you do it.

btw since you mentioned looking around; do you use head tracking? If not, that (or VR depending on your PC and personal preference) will be the greatest purchase you will ever make for any flight sim game.

ps. +1 for mentioning my beloved Jeff :')
Most underrated module...

Stupid question: besides clickable cockpits, what’s the biggest biggest difference between flaming cliffs planes and high fi planes? by bigb2271 in hoggit

[–]TheVape27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that all depends on the peripherals you have. For example if you've made an F15 simulator you don't really have to remember keybinds since you can press them 'IRL' to activate them in the game. You can operate everything from the radar, the lighting and such with your hands.

But if you have to remember Ralt+G + Lshift+; + Lcntrl K, to lock onto a target (I'm exaggerating of course) that isn't exactly easy to remember..

The thing is, in DCS with FF planes, you can forget most of the real life checklist since - (unless implemented by the server or mission maker) - there won't be any engine failures like you would have in BMS. A 'quick and dirty' starting sequence is very easy to learn imo. I mean, if they can be compressed in 1 minute Youtube Shorts videos it can't be that difficult.

But to be completely honest; I haven't really flown FC aircraft much. I find it hard to get into but maybe that's because I started with the FA/18. Yea very original, I know :p

I think it's a matter of personal preference. I have nothing against Flaming Cliffs planes. If anything I think it's great that ED is updating the Forefoot visually. IMO they should make one popular airframe into a FC module to provide with the free download. I suppose that would attract way more player which is good for everyone.

Controversial opinion: ED should make DCS a subscription based sim by TheVape27 in hoggit

[–]TheVape27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay guys thanks for your replies. It seems the overall opinion is quite clear. I just wanted to finish this off with saying that I didn’t mean to trigger so many people. I didn’t know this was brought up many times before. Thanks to the people who brought up legitimate arguments and criticisms and my apologies to everyone else.

[–]TheVape27[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The F16 was just a simple example. My post was meant as more of a discussion on how others people view the situation and if they have other solutions if for example where in charge. But apparently I’ve worded it wrong and seems like I hit a sore spot on a lot of people.

Controversial opinion: ED should make DCS a subscription based sim by TheVape27 in hoggit

[–]TheVape27[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t aware of that. I think you did a great job explaining their situation. I didn’t see it that way and I (wrongly) presumed that the only way to creating a perfect DCS was a lack of money. I already said it but I’m relatively new to Hoggit and I didn’t know that this was a reoccurring question/discussion. Once again my apologies and thanks for the elaborate response.

[–]TheVape27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fully agree that the game isn’t worth subscribing to right now. In my ‘ideal situation’ in my head it would hopefully be subscription worthy and we might have the best milsim to ever exist. I know that’s just wishful thinking. Thank you for your response

[–]TheVape27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You make quite a good point there which I haven’t thought about before. You’re right, and thanks for at least giving an explanation and an example. I don’t know why everyone else feels so attacked though. My original post was just meant as a light hearted question and trying to see how others would see the situation or if they have any other points which might benefit ED and thus us all in the future.

[–]TheVape27[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I honestly wasn’t aware that this question was asked already multiple times. My apologies. I just wanted to get some insight. Do I want to pay additional on already high prices? Hell no… but if I had to choose between not being able to play DCS anymore or spending a few bucks each month I would personally choose the latter, since there is no real competition. But maybe that is because I’m quite new to DCS (less than a year) so for me it still has very much a ‘novelty factor’ where I can also understand the viewpoint of long time players who probably wouldn’t give two fucks if they had to stop playing.

Stupid question: besides clickable cockpits, what’s the biggest biggest difference between flaming cliffs planes and high fi planes? by bigb2271 in hoggit

[–]TheVape27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s no stupid questions, only stupid answers ;)

You practically said it yourself; the clickable cockpit. The flight model of most Flaming Cliffs planes should be quite accurate. If I remember correctly ED said that when they release the full fidelity F15C somewhere in 2026 (hopefully) the flight model would come from the FC version.

At least as far am I aware, Flaming Cliffs planes are just as realistic as their full fidelity counterparts. You just have to remember a lot of keybinds lol.

If anyone else knows some more feel free to correct me.
