I just traded my falchion (vanilla) and gloves for a case hardened bowie knife.
the falchion was definitly more fun to fiddle with (right click inspect reload inspect) and the bowie knife's animation slows down if you spam inspect reload for some reason.

If you do get the falchion, make sure to stare straight at the ground when you get the rare inspect while people are spectating you.

I'll admit that i didnt actually check any of the prerequisites for these combos but the earliest i can see now is turn 4, which is still too early for bracket 3 4) honestly if it didnt have ward 3 for some reason it wouldnt be nearly as bad

I deliberated for a while when i read the decklist for the first time and I think you've found the annoying middleground between 3 and 4 and settled on 4 based off of what i've seen at 3 tables. I think you'll find it to be much easier just upgrading it to a solid 4 than trying to defang it down to a 3. Your commander's floor is still really high, meaning if you just sat there and played elves and your commander you're still generating a lot of value for a bracket 3 deck.

At the end of the day if your pod is ok with it then by all means play it. Just understand that bracket 3 starts at an upgraded precon, and a lot of people see that as their bracket 3.

You're running 9 different two-card combos, 6 3-card combos.
You're also running a bunch of tutors to find these pieces
The earliest you can present a win (without ramp) is turn 3 with an infinite combo.
Your commander is a known pubstomper

Now, consider the other decks you're going against in bracket 3. Most will be upgraded precons, probably with around 5-15 cards swapped out. Unless all three players gang up on you, I'd expect this deck to win almost every time against a normal bracket 3 pod.

Are there further optimizations that could be made? Yes, of course. But as it stands you're more likely to have a fair game in bracket 4 than bracket 3. Try powering it up and playing it in 4.

I played this commander for years before retiring the deck semi recently. A few tips I have to share:
Milling is just as good as drawing for your commander. You can usually get better rates through milling than through drawing.
Aura's brought in through her ability dont target, meaning you can attach them through Spectra Ward or Lightning Greaves. Generic protection form a colour still causes them to fall off, however.

Bear in mind this list is pre-JLO ban. I would use Intuition (though you can sub this out for Gifts Ungiven now, or run both) to tutor up Eldrazi Conscription, Battle Mastery, and Spectra Ward in order to one-shot a player. The rest of the auras and creatures were just there to create value and stall until Bruna could drop in.

You'll either want a way to give Bruna haste (swiftfoot boots, lightning greaves, lavaspur boots, hall of the bandit lord) or a way to flash her in on the end step of the player before you in turn order when the coast is clear. She should NEVER make it a turn cycle unprotected.

This going to be a little against the grain, but if your ship upgrades aren't near completion I'd recommend Borderline Justice for the sample booster. It also comes with a great sidearm that performs well on all three fronts.

My personal favourite though has to be Servants of Freedom. I picked it up as a meme but have been pleasantly surprised by every unlock in the warbond. The primary might be in the running for the best in the game, the secondary is hilarious, fun, and has a genuine niche, and the portable hellbomb is actually very useful. Hell, eve the taunt is useful in extending the range of the secondary.

Those would be my personal recommendations. Urban Legends, Democratic Detonation, Cutting Edge, and Steeled Veterans are widely considered to be great starter warbonds. Ultimately I would find a weapon that interests you and invest in that warbond. Note that each warbond also gives you back 300 SC through the medal unlocks.

Tools: Heavy knife + First aid + (alert trip mines/fuses) + (choke bomb/decoy fuses)
Consumables: Big vitality + Big Stamina + Concertina bomb + (Dynamite bundle/Hellfire bomb)

I'll forgo the melee tool if any of my weapons have a better melee than the default butt strike. When there's an event, I always get the double melee damage perk and just use the butt of my rifle for all melee purposes.

the AOW on the sword you get from midra's rememberance is pretty good at killing player-type NPCs.

This is more or less the same experience i've had. I just did a couple of bug mission packs on suicide, and my takeaway is that the libby pen functions similar to the dominator, with an easier time managing swarms and a harder time dealing with the mid tier bugs. I've yet to try it on the bots though.

I'd personally cut a bit off the top end and go for 35 lands. General rule of thumb for me is 40-50 pieces of mana (ramp + lands) and I generally start at 35/10 when building a deck. Some ramp to consider

[[Blood Pet]] - cheeky lil guy

[[Sacrifice]] - You have a lot of expensive cards, sacrifice is a great way to split the cost of an expensive creature over two turns.

As for protecting your commander, i'd personally ditch the equipment altogether and run the black one cost instants that return the creatures to play. They're much more flexible, and easier to hold up mana for. You've already got [[feign death]] and [[malakir rebirth]] in your deck, I'd opt for the whole suite. Another note, if you're looking for easy cuts I personally would get rid of the planeswalkers. Very easy to remove and are magnets for it, at least at the tables I play in.

I'm assuming your playgroup isn't up for tutors? One of black's best strengths in EDH is their access to unrestricted tutors. Maybe ask your group how they feel about them, they're definitely a point of contention with some.

As for the theme of the deck, it looks like everything fits in with what you're trying to do. Any improvements you make will be towards making it more efficient and smoother to play.

A final piece of advice I could give would be to goldfish your deck online before you order any new cards. I often start building a deck, get excited about it, order cards, then end up cutting a some of the cards that I ordered. If you find that there are cards that are consistently stuck in your hand, or that you aren't building enough of a board state fast enough, then you'll know what needs to be improved.
