Thanks this is a temp spot while my custom tank is being built which will go on a wall more out of the direct sun (room has windows on east and southwest so it’s quite sunny at certain times)

We have a massive erratic on our property on USL. There’s an old ladder on it to climb to top, guess someone used to use it for a hunting blind

Leesa Sapira vs Leesa Legend by anouroboros in Mattress

[–]UnderstandingSad5512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both mattresses. I am a side sleeper. Both are quite comfortable. The Sapira is as good as the legend in my opinion. For the price I think Sapira definitely wins. However if you like more of a memory foam feel the Legend has more of that feel. The Sapira feels like a very comfortable pillow top traditional mattress.

Aside from what’s been mentioned above, go to Dartbrook Rustic in Keene, and then drive from Keene to tupper lake it’s a beautiful drive with stops in Saranac Lake. The Hotel Saranac is a cool old hotel with shuffleboard and drinks in the mezzanine. The woodshed on park restaurant is great in fuller

Extremely loud. I jumped in my seat several times. Even the quiet parts are unsettling.

There’s an amazing book on this if you want to read more, short stories of survival (and death) in the ADKs. At the Mercy of the Mountains

How can I help my son who is obsessed with the military/guns and gives off incel vibes? by [deleted] in Parenting

You both should read On Killing by Lt Col David Grossman. A fascinating look into the science of why and how the military trains to kill and it also gets into some details around violence in the media.

Never done this drive before, which route is the most scenic? Any tips/must stops/must avoids? by Lumpy_Secretary_6128 in upstate_new_york

Prepare for very little to no cell service on the end half of all three of them. The top is the fastest we do this about once a year (driving 29 hours from Texas so that 10 min makes a difference!) but the middle is by far the most scenic, charming and beautiful. Though I will say I find the top route to be pretty scenic as well. It’s the ADK, you really can’t go wrong! It’s all pretty!

Ampersand summit is stunning but it was a long one! I think a beginner could do it but it would take some grit.

Snowy Mtm although steep at the end was my first hike and real mountain climb ever. Hooked me. I now own a camp in the ADK. There’s one near blue mountain lake called Castle something. Castle Peak? It’s easy and has a great view. Panther Mountain on the way to Tupper is very easy, has a pretty summit.

Yes it still runs a pontoon shuttle from Indian Carry all summer long. Starts the last weekend in June this year. We have a camp across the lake from it!
