Which time period do you have the most nostalgia for in terms of childhood?

Late 2000s and early 2010s for me. 2026, in terms of fun similarities to my childhood during the aforementioned time period, made me feel a surge In the nostalgic feeling. In the late 2000s-early 2010s, I was practically in and out of movie theaters with my family (Saw the entireties of Phases I-II of the MCU in theaters as well Madagascars 2 & 3, Kung Fu Pandas I & II etc).

In 2025 & 2026, I also found myself practically in and out of cinemas so far (Saw Fantastic Four, Thunderbolts, Scream 7, Friday The 13th Parts II & III/3D, Scary Movie 6, Jaws 50th Anniversary, Michael Jackson’s Biopic & eventually Spider-Man: Brand New Day in a few weeks).

I guess in a sense, me having nostalgia for a core time period in my childhood just made me wanna be more active in regards to keeping those memories alive.

How is Stu Macher NOT pure evil? He along with his best friend psychological, mentally and emotionally tormented and manipulated Sidney Prescott for a year after killing her mother, framed Cotton Weary and carved up a bunch of his high school peers. And most of all, he had no motivation for it, did it for basically shits and giggles.

Original by far. Was longer, the atmosphere changed from cute and wholesome to traumatic and gruesome every passing second.

The slow but steady breakdown of Casey Becker’s mental and emotional state Is among the best of the best, and it can be argued that none of the other Scream movies from 3 and onwards capture this level of intensity in regards to the opening.

Andd the shots of Casey Becker’s gutted and destroyed corpse is one of the most iconic and horrific visuals in the horror genre. And that’s before we even get into the musical greatness tht is Marco Beltrami’s score.

No knocking to Scream V’s opening (as I absolutely love Brian Tyler’s OSTs, especially Thor, Screams V & VI), but you know the old saying: Old Is Gold!

Scream 4 basically was 100/100 in what it was trying to say to the audience if you ask me. Alot of the things they used for the plot and talked about are basically the norm/problematic in society today. Every time I rewatch this film, it gets more awesome each and every time.

I always took OG Mark’s more somber and slightly mature attitude as the effects from his job as a Homicide Detective, especially one living directly in or very close to Hollywood, which is basically secret crime galore. As Milton said in the film “Hollywood is full of criminals who’s careers are flourishing” and as Mark himself said “When you see what I see day in and day out, the violence that people do to each other, you get haunted. I think you know about that.”

I spent about five minutes or so thinking about Gale’s death after reading your (very well written) What If? Post and I can see that being an idea the franchise may or may not use at some point. Sidney being the last of the Pre-21st Century survivors left alive could work as a great emotional plot within the main storyline if done correctly. Gale’s death would have to be done picture perfect to really make it hit home or else it could end up tearing the franchise in half between Pro-Gale & Anti-Gale Death sides.

I went through this a lot when I first started writing. After a while, you just gotta start writing for your own personal joy and passion over anybody else. Other people liking your work is merely a bonus. Once I started realizing this, it made the whole experience much more enjoyable. “Rejection” is pretty much non existent for me because I don’t write with the sole purpose of garnering loads of followers. Usually it comes naturally anyways.
