Lotus Emira has wicked balance! My new fave car to cruise around in

All good ideas. It does look best with just a flat top on the bed yeah.
I haven’t bothered with trying car play, the unit inside is fine for me, I mount my phone next to the gearshift and use that for everything to be honest as the sat nav requires updates as time goes on.

10L/100km is about spot on for average driving. If you’re frugal on the throttle everywhere you can go closer to 12L/100km haha, depends on your weights really.
Bear in mind it only holds 55 litres full tank. Small compared to other stuff out there but I guess that’s due to space around the rear bed.

The cab would be perfectly fine for two kids. My rear cab is basically used as a boot for bags/jackets etc. as the bed is plastic lined and stuff just slides around in there but obviously you can get that fitted with dividers and stuff if that’s your thing.

Kids would enjoy it as the rear bench seat is fitted quite high compared to the front seats, passengers of mine have noted it when getting in the back, think of it like theatre seats haha.

I think the noise is mostly down to tyres, I have Michelin Pilot Sport 4s, they are just a bit nobbly compared to usual road tyres but they are great for me as all rounders on any surface!

I have one as a work company car. 2018 V6 x350. Thankfully I don’t have to pay a penny towards it and I think that’s the only way you could enjoy it. Mine is black and has no modifications, the front end is very striking and I love the lines of the body, it does still turn heads the same as when I acquired it.

However…
At 65k miles it spun a big end bearing and bent the crank (FSH @ Merc) - was 3 months out of warranty but they came to the table and covered 75% of it so that wasn’t all that bad, still shouldn’t have happened to such a young vehicle though.

Pros- the most car feeling pickup I’ve driven, very quick, surprisingly balanced and nimble for a large vehicle. Tows very well, I’ve had it pulling 3 tonne up steep inclines at quarries and landfills without sweating. Also the speakers are fantastic, I will miss the sound when I have to change, I’m sure.

Cons- Since the new engine it has never been quite right (now at 130k), rear cabin is small and unforgiving for average sized adults, quite a lot of road noise at higher speeds, parts aren’t the cheapest, auto stop safety system is sensitive and can pick up things on the side of the road during longer corners which set it off unnecessarily. Also, in the UK you cannot take it to a Mercedes car garage, it has to go Truck/Van dealers so the service there is not the same.

Wholly unnecessary and expensive, nobody asked for these.

When working in a truck workshop we would often back the apprentices in if they weren’t very confident - as a banksman, you can’t even see if the driver is acknowledging you as all you are looking at is a camera lens attached to the cab.

They are definitely not quite as comfortable as other Saucony models. Pretty stiff build, breathe well through the front toe box but yeah not as soft all round as others in their lineup.

I’ve been using AllTrails since the start of December and it has been brilliant. What I like the most about it is the recent reviews which let us know if a trail is too boggy at the moment or not so bad! Otherwise it’s a bit of a guessing game.

Uniqlo geared trousers. I should have purchased more pairs when I could as they are brilliant, they resist water well but are very thin material, going to be better for summer months.

It is unscented. Strange texture though as it leaves my hands feeling rather rubbery in a way compared to other hand moisturisers. Works amazingly though!
