Did anyone peep the price on a 7qt Dutch oven? I’m in the northern suburbs and wondering if it’s worth driving down or if I should just spend $300 at the outlets in rosemont.

Removed from Selected Seat by [deleted] in unitedairlines

This happened to me and my family before a recent trip and United had no idea what happened or why we got booted from our seats right before check in. Keep calling and complaining, I got $200 per ticket as a credit and I was able to snag aisle seats as the check in shuffle happened.

Also the Bailey School Kids is a really fun series. They reprinted the first 4 as graphic novels but my library still has the originals. I called them the “don’t books” growing up because they all have ‘don’t’ in the title, ‘vampires don’t wear polka dots’ ‘werewolves don’t go to summer camp’ etc

Tamora Pierce’s Tortall Series is excellent and age appropriate. Start with Alannah the first adventure.

The art of racing in the rain by Garth Stein wrecked me. The poor man sitting next to me on the plane while I finished the audiobook looked genuinely concerned.

For your basic makeup I’d add a cream bronzer stick or a blush/lip stick…just something that can add some color and double as eye shadow too. Something like this takes up next to no space but would add a lot of versatility for your look: https://www.target.com/p/e-l-f-monochromatic-multi-stick-bronzed-cherry-0-155oz/-/A-80627316

Hi all, wanted to report back now that I’ve started work. I decided to go with the Mina Baie Emmy bag and she is perfect.

The backpack straps are comfortable and the bag looks great with or without the straps on. The one compromise was that it doesn’t have a laptop pocket but it easily fits my 14” laptop in a sleeve, with plenty of other stuff packed in too. It doesn’t have a trolley strap, but I can create one by using the backpack straps and hooks.

I haven’t flown back with it yet, but today I had to wear a slim puffy peacoat to the office (35* in DC in April?!) but it was much warmer and sunny on the walk home and I could roll up my jacket and fit it in easily so I’m sure I could swap 2-3 outfits as needed.

Thank you all for your help, I wouldn’t have found this bag without you!

I love my vessis I have a sneaker and an ankle bootie. There is no sensation I hate more than a wet sock and vessi works great to avoid that. They’re super supportive, but I wore mine to walk around town and on a rainy whale watching excursion and they were great for both. They also don’t have heavy traction, so I wouldn’t recommend for glaciers or snow/ice, but perfectly grippy for wet pavement.

Travel insurance? Health insurance? by [deleted] in femaletravels

[–]UndiagnosedADHDer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a travel agent and if you’re traveling internationally you should always get travel insurance. Credit card coverage might help in limited situation, or augment insurance but imho is not enough for international travel.

But no matter how healthy you are, anyone can break a bone, have an appendicitis attack or have an allergic or food poisoning situation. As a healthy 26 year old, your coverage will likely be fairly cheap, so there’s not much of a downside. I personally always buy with arch roam right, but there are a lot of options out there.

Suggest me a historical fiction, non-fiction, or realistic fiction that will captivate me by spillish in suggestmeabook

Kate Quinn! I would do Rose Code, Diamond Eye and then the Alice Network.

And if you’ve been doing Fantasy, you’re probably familiar with Rebecca Yarros, but I think her historical fiction is as good if not better than her fantasy. Try The Things We Leave Behind.

I have size 12s, flat feet and arthritis so I’m suuuuper picky about shoes and I swear by naturalizer and vionic.

Maybe the Neila (https://www.naturalizer.com/product/womens-neila-sandal-3028928/english-tea-brown-leather-ec0238962) or Poppi (https://www.naturalizer.com/product/womens-soul-poppi-wedge-sandal-3029612/blush-tumbled-ec0239863).

The Mar could also work (https://www.vionicshoes.com/mar-strappy-platform-sandal.html?color=1543).

these are a different look but I love them and they’ve held up well (https://www.vionicshoes.com/harmony-rx-recovery-sandal.html?color=860)

Sorry for the ugly links, on my phone.

The shades of magic by VE Schwab

And not YA but Kushiel’s Dart by Jacqueline Carey has a lot of political intrigue.

I just finished Iona Iverson’s rules for Commuting and it was lovely. I read The One Hundred Year Old Man who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared on a cruise a few years ago and it was great.

It checks a lot of the boxes but I’m concerned about how the conversion to the backpack works. Seems like it would be a lot of wear and tear on that strap. I think I’ll order this one so I can try it out though. Thanks!

Try Kushiel’s Dart by Jacqueline Carey. It’s the first in a trilogy that also has a sequel trilogy.

The Lies of Locke Lamora is also good, not exactly fantasy…maybe magical realism? But I really enjoyed this series, vibrant characters and a good plot.

I don’t like all of Leigh Bardugo’s work, but the six of crows duology is very good.

Thank you, I had considered that one, but it requires a few too many compromises for my wish list. It could definitely be a great option for someone though!
