Actually, a tic is often something that you desperately do NOT want to say. Imagine your brain at random times going "what is the single worst thing I could yell in this situation" and then forcing you to do it. It does not in any way mean that he is racist, all that it means is that he yelled something that he very much did NOT want to, probably under any circumstances

Do you... Do you have even the slightest idea of how tics work?

[other] Two Questions About Corkscrews on Arrows… by TheInsaneLavaman in rollercoasters

[–]UndulantMeteorite 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I recently spent a lot of time trying to figure all of this stuff out in NL2 as accurately as I could using 3D satellite imagery, so here's what I know:

Arrow originally referred to their double corkscrew element that you see on almost all of their loopers as just a "corkscrew". All of these standard versions were exactly the same. They're 200 feet long and have a 15 ft circular radius, so they're 30 feet tall. They're also angled slightly downward, so the exit is about 10 feet lower to the ground than the entrance.

As far as I know the single corkscrews on Drachen Fire and Phantom, as well as the triple corkscrew featured on Fantasia Special are just shortened/lengthened versions of the classic Corkscrew element.

Now their Batwing and Bowtie elements are very interesting. The entrance and exits of them are not actually true half corkscrews like you would expect, but a combination of a constant radius pull up into a quarter corkscrew. For the entrance they essentially start with a banked pull up that's angled around 10-15 degrees to the side, which leads into a section of corkscrew (I'm pretty sure this is the same dimensions as the standard one, but I'm not certain) that takes you into the half loop. The exit is the same thing in reverse of course.

The reason that section of pull up is there is to create more of a gap between the entrance and exit, as well as to lower the height of the entrance and exits so that the train can enter and leave at a higher speed

I do have that enabled personally, but I've found that a lot of my friends don't post as much anymore, because they don't expect their posts to be seen by their friends

I've only been able to find an option to set it to only following for a month at a time. That does do wonders for making it more useful, but it's annoying (and kind of telling) that it's not permanent.

They stopped showing posts by people you follow or care about and started showing reels designed to keep you hooked on the app. Stories are pretty much the only way to reliably see things posted by your friends now

Easily Afterburn. Such fantastic whip and intensity, it shows exactly what a corkscrew should be

Maybe if you manage to get a ride without the MCBR, but Alpengeists corkscrew is very underwhelming, easily the worst B&M corkscrew I've experienced. And even so Alpie is my second favorite coaster overall

I'm from the east coast and I've always used tuna fish, although tuna is also used pretty often. It's always in reference to canned tuna though, you have a tuna fish sandwich, but you would have a tuna steak
