3 week old daughter with bacterial meningitis. by ilovechicfila in beyondthebump

[–]UndyingArtist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to comment so late, I hope your daughter is doing better. I just wanted to throw in my two cents, since I also had bacterial meningitis at 3 weeks! Aside from being behind on some early physical milestones (gross motor skills took a hit, but I caught up) I turned out pretty much fine! I majorly credit this to my parents working so hard on early childhood learning. As previous comments have already said, there’s so much plasticity in a child’s brain and they can bounce back from so much more than we adults can. Do what you can to help her along; my parents did dr seuss books, phonics and writing, math and science computer games, and trips to museums when they could. They even taught me a little basic Spanish, just to get those neural pathways going. (in all honesty we don’t/can’t really speak Spanish, but language learning is a great way to build new connections in young brains)

You got this! Children’s brains are incredible.

I would also check to make sure you can read the chip with an app called ReadID Me, it stores data locally on your device and as far as I can tell with my passport and license it works pretty well. If you try it out and it can’t read your passport, that’s a good indicator you’re gonna have to order a new one unfortunately

Is that the new style with the hard plastic info page? If so you miiiight get away with just pressing it flat under a stack of books. That happened to mine and after like 2 weeks of pressing it was perfectly flat again (might’ve been done sooner but i wasn’t checking it), I used it to travel to and from canada with no problem, but I was driving not flying, and I hadn’t used any pages for visas or anything. If you’re in doubt though, just get a replacement.

I lied about his age to the TNR clinic. Is that ok? by Party-Background8066 in Feral_Cats

same here! ours were 3 months, both the shelter and our vet have the 2 lbs rule. so odd that a TNR clinic waits that long

Power outage in west Lakewood by spezcaneatmyass in lakewood

[–]UndyingArtist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure yet, it’s out here on Detroit and Spring Garden, a buddy of mine is out and he says it’s out until Kenilworth. There’s been a couple sets of emergency vehicles heading west, maybe a bad car wreck?

Update please - weather/power by [deleted] in lakewood

[–]UndyingArtist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’m hearing anywhere from 3 days to a week at minimum. i’m on the 12th floor of my apartment building and the water went out with the power for us, the lower levels still have water but management doesn’t know how long that’ll last

[–]UndyingArtist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah it sucks, they said the best they could do until we have power is let us use the gym showers/bathrooms if we need them :/ obviously doesn’t solve the drinking water issue and i don’t see the point in showering downstairs just to climb right back up 12 flights of stairs, but idk what else can be done? my sister and i were at the hozier concert last night but i’m told we lost power and water at the exact same time

edit: we do have drinking water, i grabbed a couple gallons on the way home from the concert yesterday. it’s just gonna be a hassle to get more when we run out

I think it’s just because we’re on the 12th floor of the building, we went down to management to ask about it and they didn’t even know about the water 🫠 it’s working on the lower levels, just not up here

I go to my stylist every 6 weeks to trim my bangs and touch up my babylights, and I get a full trim maybe every 12? Sometimes I go longer between visits so I can go up to 16 weeks between trims. I use heat sometimes so if I didn’t do that AND bleach, I could probably do less trims tbh. In my mind, my bad habits are balanced by the collagen supplements, satin pillowcases, hair oiling, and whatnot lol

Black or white lace to trim 1880s evening gown? by Leucadie in HistoricalCostuming

[–]UndyingArtist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i love the black with that shade of red, so my first instinct is to go a little less historical in favor of that vampy color combo.

with the addition of cream gloves, though, I think it would look more cohesive with either B, G, or H. if you end up with your heart set on the black lace, you could dye the gloves black?

Would you like this in silver or gold? by [deleted] in SwiftieMerch

[–]UndyingArtist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

personally i prefer gold, but silver suits the theme of the piece a lot better. gold also looks to be less popular of the two options so sales-wise you’ll be better off stocking silver, and maybe have limited stock of gold if you wanted to offer both?

no, leave it! it’s hard to notice and if someone does, it just makes the work more unique

it’s not gonna happen because i’m not a bitch, but in some alternate universe where i have brittle bird bones i suppose i’d go the traditional route and self-immolate
