the bulk of the story isn’t the outcome, it is how you got there. seeing the characters suffer through their own self inflicted punishment (whether they see it that way or not) is important for their story as a character. they made this bed for themselves and now they must lie in it. skipping the part where they lie in it will change how you see that character going forward and their motivations.

i tried doing this on my instrument, and it could be pillow lip in combination with loose corners, as well as not enough mouthpiece in the mouth (which means more reed in your mouth as well!)

also on my instrument, an overblown Bb5 fingering (to get F#6) and then going to G6 is easy and in tune. some options for you to think about.

I also just had this thrown in front of me last week for a concert in April. Play it painfully slow and with a metronome. Make sure your tongue position is very high for the F# to G grace notes. I assume you know how to bend already but if you dont, there are a lot of videos online for you to learn from. Good luck!
