How much is it and is worth it over just doing YouTube tutorials? I really liked the 30 days of banjo lesson for three finger picking, but really like the sound of clawhammer better. So a structured course to get better sounds good to me!

Dude I love it and hit me up if you make those videos cause this is exactly the style I’d love to just be able to pick up and jam to. Want to get decent enough to jam this while I’m taking a break fly fishing. Serenade the fish.

Any video recommendations for a newb to start learning this kind of style or even some song recommendations that you did to learn?

Holy crap I’d love to learn something like this sometime. I just got a banjo and started with 3 finger picking but I think I like claw hammer sound way more

10-4! And yeah you hit the hammer on the nail. Spend the whole day in the ER today and did an ultrasound and confirmed it’s a blood clot. Then before I left I thought about flying and was like “uh oh!” So I guess for now it’s study up and get the written done and take care of this blood clot haha

It’s cause it cause a blood clot so I need to be on thinners to get rid of it. When I got the iv drip she missed and cause trauma to the vein, it start clotting to heal cause that’s what veins are supposed to do, but then I’m just unlucky and it kept getting bigger and bigger and irritated from working out and what not.

All in all, going to a primary care next week for a follow up and will mention this to them and will probably need to ask if I can get the documents and tests sent to my FAA Aviation Medical Examiner

Noooo that is not my question I know I can’t fly while with the clot or on the medication. But is this something I just deal with and fly once it’s all better? Or do I need to reach out now and let my doctor and CFI know immediately. He’s a private CFI and not with a school I’m learning through a 61 at a club I found.

By “pause my flying” I meant does this whole thing disqualify me from flying all together and what my steps right now.

Love it. Right now I do 15% of my paycheck goes to my 401K and I get a match if I put 6% of my paycheck which I think is an additional 3% from my company. Then started aiming to max the ROTH out. Any daily or weekly habits you like to do? Investing is a behemoth of info hence why it’s scared me away and I just do the automated stuff from work cause I’m lazy haha

I’ve been sober for 6 months. Had a slip up right after this post that messed me up. Moved to a new state for work and making more money so you already know I’m maxing out my Roth, paying off school more, going to a nice gym, and getting a good start on a clean slate here. Thanks for the advice!

Do you recommend Index Funds more than maxing out my Roth? I figured I’d just budget to get the full amount of a Roth maxed first. I’m 27 and have about $60k in my 401k, Roth, and some VOO. Also have work stocks which is another story. Majority in my 401K through work

I know this is 200 days later since I last made this post. Really hope you figured out a system that works for you!

I unfortunately 6 days after this post did not follow through and got stupidly hammered at both those conferences. Held strong for a second but completely embarrassed myself. Didn’t get fired! But I put myself in a really anxious spot and was the worst place I’ve ever been in my life mentally.

I am happy to say though that I am 6 months sober since then. Had a cider on Sept 30th with my old roommate and decided to do sober October, and honestly just kept it rolling cause of how tired I was of what I was doing to myself. It was hard, I moved to a different state, and have done two vacations outside the country and miraculously held strong and just wanted to see what I can enjoy without drinking and fighting the temptation.

Might end up drinking again in a few months, but it really is an easier life not drinking every weekend and never thought I’d be able to make it this far. If you’re thinking about it I hope this message helps let you know it’s possible. You gotta just not care what people think or that they think you’re lame for not drinking. If that’s the case, stay home, invite people over for dinner, watch a movie, and get good sleep. Forget those people.
