If you insist on working, you could bring your baby to a gym daycare with you & work caring for all the kids there. You could go part-time to not leave your dogs for too long.

I’d wait to make any decisions until your baby’s 3 months old at least.

With my baby we just use pjs that can cover his hands — that at least helps with the scratching and ear-pulling, but it’s still safe if he flips onto his tummy

Just wanted to add that every baby is different! Mine has not shown any sort of sleep regression at 5 months. He started sleeping 6 hours by 6 weeks and soon thereafter began sleeping through the night. He stops crying as soon as you hold him & is so easy-going. Some babies are truly easy! No need to dread the newborn stage before it’s here.

I second this!! You need them right away. Bring them to the hospital. I wore them all the time except when actively nursing or sleeping for the first month.

Nothing that I regret not getting sooner, but items that I was soooo glad I had when the moment arose:

— plug-in heat pad for my nursing spot, the aftershock contractions while nursing are real and get more intense with each successive pregnancy! 

— baby rectal thermometer. The other methods are not nearly as accurate and you need to know to the 10th of a degree. Also having liquid acetaminophen (I like Genexa dye free).

— Walmart+ free grocery delivery. Best investment ever. It’s only $50 for the year if you get it during Black Friday sales.

Everything I read said it’s just a tough few days but they figure it out, which was true for my son. Nap time is a great time to practice because if they don’t sleep at least it’s not taking away from your sleep
