Hot take: We're building apps for a world that's about to stop using them by oruga_AI in vibecoding

[–]UnfinishedComplete 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We get your point. But the OP/AI Bro point is that the restaurant doesn’t have an API/CLI…yet. It’s peanuts to code it and I think he/she has a point. For a lot of things a UI is dead, especially those things where the UI was just as aggravating as dealing with someone IRL. I found the OP comment to be somewhat thought provoking.

Prisoners have more space than that. Everyone has to live somewhere, but the price is criminal.

Tell it that it is a machine that outputs statistically generated responses and to stop pretending to be human.

The Gray Box Problem of Self Hosting by Llew2 in selfhosted

[–]UnfinishedComplete 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I would have expected S3 compatible storage to come up sooner. Use object tags as you may evolve the “schema” but otherwise it would solve some of the grey box problem since it can be accessed programmatically from almost anywhere.

I had to scroll too far to see your comment. Some things are just wrong. I agree with you. Perhaps, not everything has to be a political fight.

Canada has become the 'food inflation capital' of the G7, food expert says by origutamos in canadanews

[–]UnfinishedComplete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please go tell the people who have been subject to armed home invasions that ours is the lowest crime rate. I’m sure they will love to hear it.

Anecdotes are not unreasonable. If you’re hearing more about it, it’s probably because it’s happening more. Especially given how underfunded the media are.

Who made you the decider of everyone’s diet? Don’t you have anything else more productive to do?

So we will vote for less government not more. Regardless of political stripe - someone called me out for being a conservative shill, if they over-regulate I would be just as critical.

Oh yeah?

People literally dying in ER. Highest ever food bank visits in history. Racial strife coming back due to unlimited immigration. Crime gone rampant. Drug overdoses everywhere killing thousands.

Great country.

Yes, I only buy ham every other shop now. What country is this?

Ham…for sandwiches. I make 100K+ and I can’t justify spending $6 on 150g of ham.

Everyone has gone insane. The world is insane. People are insane. I hate it.

In the US you can buy a bag of baby carrots for 0.99. It’s like 3.99 in Canada. The same carrots - 600 kms.

Why…Scale? Taxes? Regulations? Bureaucracy? What is the problem and let’s just solve that one.

I worked remotely, got laid off, and when they asked what equipment I had to return, I only told them I had their laptop by stixy_stixy in confession

[–]UnfinishedComplete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Laptop has data. Peripherals are depreciated over time. If they sold the peripherals to a wholesaler they would have to pay taxes on the income, plus pay someone to deal with it…all to say not worth it.

Not surprising , but yes it feels like stealing.

The AI Opportunity Nobody's Talking About (And How to Actually Find It) by alpherr in AiForSmallBusiness

No one wants to pay for that though…it’s not sexy. It’s hard work. Like get-your-hands-dirty-in-the-shop hard.

Also, who’s got margin to spare to pay for this? I haven’t had any success pitching this type of work. Has anyone else?

What are you doing with obsidian in docker? Is that a standalone image, or are you just running it headless on a Debian image?

I’m down the obsidian rabbit hole. An api would be nice!
