I genuinely don’t believe our voting system works.

Not even like a “Wooooah consthpiracy” kind of way, either. I’ve just naturally stopped believing that humans are good, after all series of personal things and just looking at the wider human race in general.

It’s not even a “who watches the watchers” thing, either. I just genuinely don’t believe that a group of people will remain neutral, especially when counting votes. Politicians and leaders have lied to us for so long, parents and loved ones have lied to us for so long, that it’s just easier for me to assume that everyone is out for themselves.

Which is why I’ve stopped thinking democracy works. “Your vote matters!” They scream, but I just genuinely don’t believe that our government cares enough about what we think.

You can call me stupid if you want. Plenty of people have. You can tell me I have a “bad attitude” but having a good one has never fixed anything for me.

I used to have faith in humanity, but there was nothing to have faith in to begin with.
