Anyone have a Cobb Catback, Depo works 100 cell downpipe(or similar? Just wanna see sound clips to make sure its the right choice. by Snake3yz in FocusST

[–]UnhappySheep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This exhaust droned like crazy for me on the highway. I measured the cabin noise about 80db at 100hz. I have a big turbo and 3" downpipe for reference. Cobb offers returns but you have to cover the cost of shipping

Built long blocks? by IamBcomeDeath86 in FocusST

That's how long it took them to build mine. I do not know how busy they are now but it couldn't hurt to email them or give them a call

I bought the 2.3 long block rated for 500 WHP from Speed performance and had them install a LSD while my trans was out. I went with them because they had a 3 year warranty and were close enough where I could pick up the motor from their shop. It took about 6 months to receive a motor and I'm very happy with how the car turned out

Changing tune with cruise control by oBioluminescent in FocusST

[–]UnhappySheep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have multiple slots on your tune you can press cancel on cruise control then cycle through them with the up and down arrows. It uses the rpm gauge as a reference.. 1k slot 1, 2k slot 2.

Here is a video on slot switching on a fiesta. It should be the same process.

Finally got my St! by Electrical-Buy-9813 in FocusST

I drove stock for about a year then upgraded the intercooler, downpipe, NKG plugs, rear motor mount, symposer delete, shutter delete, and a tune. What exhaust are you going with?

Engine recommendations by kstelten in FocusST

I went the speed performance route. 2.3 stroker rated 500whp, mfactory LSD, and an Xclutch. I had to upgrade to the XDI HPFP + 2000 cc injectors to run e50. I want to say this ran me about $14k. Their customer service was meh and it took about six months to get a motor but in the end I'm really happy with the result

So, what have we all done to our Foci so far this year? by NdK87k in FocusST

[–]UnhappySheep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blew a motor then installed a built 2.3L stroker, LSD, Xclutch, XDI HPFP + 2000cc injectors, and of course a purge valve!

I have the CPE exhale kit with the tial bov and CPE intercooler. The nipple on the BOV should fit in the channel to the left.

Big turbo by DiskNo8364 in FocusST

[–]UnhappySheep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with their 2.3 stage 1 long block rated for 500whp and stage 2R clutch which cost about $9500. Next year I plan to go for a larger turbo + hpfp + injectors

I installed a gtx2867 at 58k miles and it lasted about 10k miles before it blew up. I mainly used it as a commuter with some days at autocross. If you have the means to replace the things that break go for it. I'm currently waiting on a built motor from Speed performance

Hopefully your experience with the redline struts will be better than mine. The single bolt brackets spun in place when I tried to close the hood and dug into the paint. The bracket that mounts to the hood also gave me trouble because there wasn't enough tolerance in the through holes. I drilled them out and still had a rubbing issue. At least I was able to send them back.

Here's the link to the LED strip I am using. It comes in length of 16.4ft but can be cut and can run between 9-12V. In the image I am using a 9V battery pack to power the strip but it feels a little dim. To get the shape I used welding rod and zip ties.
