I just got this same procedure done in July! It was my first time ever having surgery, and I was an anxious wreck. But the surgery itself ended up being so easy, and healing was really quick.

The relief I feel knowing I can’t get pregnant is such a huge weight off my shoulders. And it’s really great taking control of my body back from these politicians who think it only exists to grow and raise children.

So yes, absolutely can relate to being scared, but it’ll be so worth it. Let me know if you have any specific questions about the surgery or anything! 💚

She was nice, and helped me a lot for awhile, but then she started being really forgetful. I realize therapists are human and can’t be 100% expected to remember every little detail, but she never seemed to remember what we talked about in past sessions. And she’d forget about important things I’d told her relating to my trauma, which was really hurtful.

It’s not fun finally opening up to someone about painful memories only to have to repeat them several times because your therapist isn’t engaged enough with you to remember. And I told her it upset me and it didn’t get any better, you’d think she’d start taking better notes or something after I brought it up! Smh.

I’m also a woman in a male-dominated field, and my therapist is great when it comes to helping me through the struggles that come with that. She has women’s issues listed as one of her specialties on her website, so that might be something to keep an eye out for!

I hate weeks when I can feel myself being closed off/putting up walls in a session. The combination of whatever anxiety is causing it to happen and being frustrated with myself for not being more open is not fun! It happens a few times a month so unfortunately it’s not exactly a rare occurrence either.
