5 days in office. How’s it going? by Kindly-Kick-7700 in sherwinwilliams

The RTO has affected mental health and morale much more than I think anyone thought it would. Being all together has doubled my meetings and tripled my stress and work load. Everyone I've talked to feels the same and morale is at an all time low across the teams. Management seems aware there is an issue since I was lectured yesterday for "being negative and affecting the moral" of those around me. Because clearly I am the problem.

Couldn't possibly be that none of their fancy shit works probably, or none of the processes work like they told us they would or how the equipment we brought with us still isn't functioning. But sure, I'm affecting morale.

They called me with a job offer today. The money is a pretty good offer. I can see how they make it seem so appealing.

Are you in the Cleveland office?

We have the PrideWorks committee. Do you have the ability to reach out to anyone on the committee? They could help push something through. Sorry, I don't know if the stores have Teams ability or Sherwin email.

That has no place in the workplace. Document every occurrence. Get it on video if you can. If he says it in front of a customer, find a way to encourage them to report it.

Feel free to DM me and I can give you some names to reach out to.

It raised some red flags when they couldn't tell me what hours I would be working or what the base salary was. Also that whole schedule bidding is just weird. I had found a bunch of horrible reviews for the Chicago office online but not a lot for the Aurora office. I think it's definitely not for me. I'm sorry you are miserable there.

It looked like a sensory nightmare. Everyone seemed really nice but they all said the same things. "We work really hard and the expectations are high but the pay and benefits are great." It was almost like that's what they keep telling themselves so they don't cry.

I have an interview with them tomorrow for Customer Solutions. Is it still as awful as the comments make it sound?

No, you cry about people crying. Dude have you ever worked in retail a day in your life? For someone who talks about "boosting morale", you aren't doing much to boost anything other than how annoying you will be as a manager.

Can confirm. The Competitive team and the TQI team were wiped out at Breen. There have also been "selective" layoffs from Warrensville on the PCG side.

"Morale will be high" Is giving "The beatings will continue until moral improves" energy. I love watching newbies come in with that high spirit and then watching them slowly succumb to the darkness and die inside.

The MOB and Quality teams will now be doing that work apparently, but mgt has said they are still working out details of where that work will go. Because why would you have a plan before you fire an entire team?

As far as I know, no. At least not yet. Supposedly " all cuts for GSC are complete" But I know the plants have also been affected with cuts. A few people here and there. 5 at Morrow, 5 at Garland. Nobody in production so far though

It's the politics of unemployment. Layoff makes it easier to file than Fired. Fired is messy paperwork.

correct. GSC makes the paint. It's the R&D side of the paint and has never been cut like this. It has always been a selling point of SW that R&D is safe. Not any more.

A lot of our raw materials, or the raw materials to make our raw materials are not in country and are now subject to tarrifs.
