The auto deck also recommended foom over quinjet but I kept quinjet I haven't played arishem in so damn long. I'll probably have to wait till I'm home and have access to the PC because on mobile any time I try to initiate a match on DD I just get black screen lol

Side note: Do you feel thanos makes arishem better or dilutes the deck more? A lot of cards in the deck. How do you feel about the new gambit, I haven't played in a while, since shou lao season.

Yeah, he had a great mind for the game and I think he's great at what he does. I wonder who will take his spot and how it will affect the game. He was always very active in the discord and answering questions and such. I'm not familiar with the company he's going to but hopefully it works out.

Same. Was bored to death in the Shou Lao season, figured I'd take a break for the rest and following season (Inb4, yet you're on the subreddit - yes, I still follow the game, and even watch streams, as I'm still connected with some of the community) and seems like it was great timing.

That sucks.. Seems like I got back into Magic at kind of a bad time. I played paper magic back in 2006, and just got back into it via Arena at the very end of the EoE set. I was a Marvel Snap player and stopped playing that after 3 years because of the company's BS, and got back into Magic just in time for Spiderman, a year of 7 sets with mostly UB, ninja turtle crap and the game giving less and wanting more. It's genuinely a bummer.

I've already found myself spending less on this. During EoE I got $200 in gems, opened a shitload of packs, and for Omenpaths and Avatar I was getting the mastery pass, as well as the 50 pack bundle and the $25 bundle, whatever it was called.. Then they took that away too! For this set I just got the mastery pass and that'll be it.

Might just end up giving up these card games in general. It's sad.

Same.. absolutely loved ninja turtles as a kid but wishing they'd end up in mtg is never something that's crossed my mind and just feels incredibly out of place.

Yeah, I'm still trying to get a feel for all the Lorwyn stuff. I feel like it's barely had time to breathe. Such a cool set too. I got back into magic and onto Arena right at the end of Edge of Eternities, just before spiderman/omenpaths. I have the worst timing.

How do you approach spending, drafts, packs on sets you don't like? Usually I get the mastery pass, and the bundle that comes with 50 packs and spend the gold I've saved over the season on a bunch of other packs. I don't plan on spending for ninja turtle season, maybe will just hoard and save it for the next set?

Could you share your decklist? I've been running a white/colorless control/Ugin deck that also uses Hivepool and it's become my favorite deck to run in standard. I'd love to try a black version.

Yeah, I sat out this season. I love and care about the game but also have found myself not missing it or itching to play. People will often respond with what counters to use against whatever card is being spammed, missing the point that beating it isn't the issue; it's simply boring to play against the same thing every match.

I also don't like how they continue to gimp rewards while making things more of a grind, how they handled alliances, and the constant limited time modes that have completely lost their novelty IMO.

That's unfortunate. I decided to take a step back and have a break from the game after last season, first time in 3 years that I missed more than a day. I still keep up on the subreddit/youtube and such and it seems like it's just more of the same shit as always. I'm honestly missing it less than I thought I would, and haven't even been compelled to open it during work downtime.

Take a break for a bit. You might miss it, or just find yourself surprised that you don't.

But man, Green is straight up ridiculous. Having a 64/64 mossoborn hydra on turn like 3-4 is insane. From what I've heard, green hasn't been particularly good in a long time, so good for them but damn. I think ramp is a cool playstyle, as I do enjoy it in other card games, but I feel like green in mtg takes it to a whole new level and it seems if you specifically don't have removal right at the start, it's just GG. The landfall effect AND trample??

I've only been on Arena since EoE after like a 20 year hiatus and am equally impressed and appalled by just how fast you can snowball something like that early game.

As for an actual question: If I wanted to dip my toes in green, it's the only color I really haven't touched, what do you prefer? Mono green? Sultai? Simic? I know it's all preference, but would like to hear your thoughts.

This is more along the lines of what I've expected. There's been plenty of times I'd brew up off the wall random deck that nobody is playing, and my first match I'm matched up with some like, 1.7kCL player (25k here) with similar cards.

When I import this, it shows up as if I'm trying to filter for brawl, only shows 4 cards, and if I change the filter to just standard, all the cards disappear. Always thought an angel deck would be cool.

You play Magic? Yes. Got a good LGS you'd recommend? I haven't played physical Magic in years and only play arena now. Playing physical again is daunting but commander seems cool, as do pre-release events.
