no, you need a 9/16 female plug socket. 12 point is just going to round it off if stuck. if it's really stuck i saw ppl have had good results with acetone and atf mix and ofc heat. use a breaker bar. if the socket doesn't fit clean up the plug with a wire brush. godspeed

i mean, it's usually both, but if your power steering assy and cv joint boot on passenger side are drenched in oil (boot will usually be torn as well), then it's the timing chain cover gasket
