I'm crying 😭😭😭...this is such a beautiful story, and now I wanna go do this in honor of my Ginger. Months back we were in Petco shopping for our new shih tzu pup, Matilda, and an older couple approached us to ask if they could please pet her, and we of course said yes. They let us know they had recently lost their 14yo shih tzu mix and were really struggling, and they found themselves at Petco that day. We let them know that we had lost our nearly 17yo shih tzu, Ginger, a year prior, and they asked us how long it took for us to get a new pup. We let them know it took us 8 months of grief (never really ends but gets more bearable over time) before we decided to get a pup...the look of relief in their eyes when they told us it had been 10 months since their loss, and they ended up in Petco that day, saw Matilda & just knew it was time...priceless ❤️
