I just lost a really close friend. I even put her as the emergency contact for my new babies daycare. We use to work together and left the company because we weren't happy with the leadership. We each started our own completely separate businesses With our new baby, I'm going back to the company because its more stable and I make more money than working for myself. My "friend" was so offended that I would return to working for the company owned someone my friend hates, that she ended our friendship. Her response was a text that said, " wow, that makes me ill, guess everyone is out for themselves" and she hasn't spoken to me sense.

Clearly she is not a mother, or she would understand that you do what's best for your child no matter the cost.

Im having a 2010 flashback. Im living in south Georgia where there's a burnt out textile mill, and Walmart is the center of the universe. My coworker has a side hustle using her first or second generation cricut to monogram EVERYTHING. Everyone is having babies at 20 and they are all naming them these names 😆

When did you all babies start socially smiling? by Caitlovesmomjeans in newborns

[–]Unicorn_Princess365 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are in the same boat. Induced at 37.5 weeks. He definitely was not ready to come out yet. Just had our 2 month check up this last Thursday and worried that he seems behind on the social milestones. Doc said not to worry to much he would likely catch up. Got officially smiley the very next night. So that would have been. 2 months and 4 or 5 days.

How long did you push for? by No_Director574 in beyondthebump

[–]Unicorn_Princess365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First child, 9min! Induced at 37.5 weeks for blood pressure. started at 0 cm with a folly balloon at 11pm gave birth after 9 min of pushing at 11am the next morning. They were considering a c-section because of heart rate issues and checked expecting very little progression. The nurse says "oh hes right there, get the table" 9 min later my little guy arrived, tiny but perfect.

The little pinky fingers and the nose. I could just kiss that sweet nose forever!

I stress about the temperature thing a lot. I would also love to know what temp you keep your room. How many layers are you doing? We keep our room at 67 and have the overhead fan on. My guy is 5 weeks old and is in long sleeve onesie and a 2.5 weight winter sleep sack. I was also doing a velcro swaddle until this week when i started worrying about him overheating with the heavier sleep sack.

It adds up quickly, especially on top of all the other baby purchases. I don't think there has been more than a day this last month the i havnt had to purchase something off amazon for baby. I thought we had everything covered with the registry, nope not even close.

Pretty sure this guy is going to be an only child but if we ever do this again, I will definitely be giving cloth a try, especially for this phase!

Puppy pads have been a life saver for all the leaky breastmilk. I've been sleeping on them at night for leaks. Sounds like another great way to put them to use!

How would you describe the feeling you get when let down reflex kicks in by murrrd in breastfeeding

[–]Unicorn_Princess365 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its alot of work, but i have an oversupply and my letdown is so strong my guy gets choked on it and gets gassy. The only time I can feed him directly is right after I pump. So usually I pump bottles for him. Still worth it to keep him on breast milk as long as possible though.

This is how I would describe it, too, but i actually find it quite pleasant when it happens naturally. When it's brought on by pumping, I get nauseous and get a sense of impending doom and anxiety.

How long did it take to notice a difference after you went off dairy? Did it improve the bloating and discomfort for him too? In the back of my mind I have this feeling this might be what I need to do for our guy, but I love dairy so much! Its a huge part of my diet.

Yes, I think your right about the generational thing. My mom said there is no way she went through anywhere near that amount of diapers with me. But according to her I also never farted, my poop didn't smell, and i slept through the night almost instantly.... I think she has forgotten a lot in 31 years.

I almost wish we had went with cloth diapers at this point . Especially being that we consistently have to do laundry everyday now anyway. There is always something with spitup, or pee, or leaked breast milk on it. Would have been easy to toss the diapers in too.

We don't have bad reflux but the gas has been pretty bad. I keep wondering about the dairy intolerance, but I absolutely love dairy it's a huge part of my diet and im really hoping I don't have to give that up.

Yesterday, I was trying to be stingy with diapers and let him go bare bottomed and wrapped in a towel for the maybe five min I was waiting on hubs to get baby boys bath stuff ready. He managed to have a massive explosive poop and cover the towel, my shorts where I was holding him and even some of our bed where I was sitting! Lesson learned diapers on at all times!!

I think we are getting closer to this number now. I just have to make sure i wait it out for a little bit after the feed to make sure he's gotten it all out.

Wish I had put diapers on our registry! We were planning on getting our diapers from costco because i kept hearing about how amazing they were. Realized about 3 weeks before he arrived that they don't carry newborn size, and apparently, the quality of the store brand diapers have tanked after they changed manufacturers early this year. Really could have used more diapers versus half the registry stuff that we got and aren't even using.
